I am frequently asked about orthopedic footwear coverage through insurance. If you have footwear coverage make sure to call your provider and specifically ask what type of shoes you are covered for. Custom made or off the shelf? There is a massive difference in the cost and need for either type of shoe.
Custom made shoes cost thousands of dollars and are primarily for feet that don't fit within the parameters of mass produced off the shelf shoes.
Some examples are unusually large, small and/or wide feet; uniquely shaped feet; feet of significantly different size from one another; shoes that need to accommodate custom leg braces, etc.

Are you experiencing foot or leg pain? Our focus is not only to treat the pain but to explain to you why the pain is occurring, how best to treat it and what you can do to help speed your recovery. Treatment is based on your individual needs and may include Custom Made Orthotics and/or Footwear Modifications, new footwear, off-loading devices, and/or Compression Stockings. We only sell the highest quality products from companies such as Brooks, Sigvaris, Biotime, Drew, Apex and Sole. We fabricate all custom made items in our on-site laboratory meaning your custom orthotics can be made in as soon as two days if needed. Additional locations within Pinnacle Physiotherapy of Windsor (1270 Walker Rd.) and Lakeshore (1303 County Rd. 22). Home visits are also available upon request.
