Being a child of an immigrant comes with a tapestry of experiences, intricacies, and challenges that shape our identities in profound ways.

From navigating between two cultures to reconciling conflicting norms and expectations, the journey is uniquely ours.
Growing up, I've encountered the complexities firsthand—the constant balancing act between honoring my heritage and adapting to the local culture, the pressure to succeed while carrying the weight of familial expectations, and the ever-present struggle to find a sense of belonging.

But through my own journey and my extensive training and clinical experience spanning over 20 years working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, I've come to understand the nuances of these challenges and the profound impact they can have on mental health and well-being.
As a social worker, I am deeply committed to supporting individuals and families like ours navigate these complexities with compassion, understanding, and cultural sensitivity.

I believe in creating safe spaces where our voices are heard, our experiences validated, and our unique strengths celebrated.

These sessions can help you navigate these difficulties, equip you with tools to better handle your emotions, and gain clarity in your personal journey.

I am a Québec licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 year experience, and I’m passionately dedicated to assisting my clients through virtual sessions.

✨ My new availability is from Monday to Friday, 7am-12pm and late evenings 8pm -11pm.

Let's explore the idea of embracing the present & releasing the weight of the past.

Picture this: Imagine yourself as a bird, capable of soaring freely through the sky. Just as a bird cannot fly with heavy weights attached to its wings, it's difficult for us to move forward when we carry the weight of regrets and lingering guilt from our past. These feelings can act like heavy burdens that hold us back from fully enjoying the possibilities that today holds.

It's important to recognize that it's natural for us to have struggles and regrets from our past experiences. However, dwelling on them can prevent us from fully experiencing the beauty and potential that the present moment has to offer. Like a canvas waiting to be painted upon, the present gives us the opportunity to create a brighter future for ourselves.

In counseling sessions, as we work together, we can explore ways to gently release the grip of the past on your thoughts and emotions. By doing so, you can create more space for positivity, growth & joy in your life. We will focus on building a toolbox of techniques that help you stay grounded in the present, allowing you to embrace the here and now with a lighter heart.

I will be there to support you on this journey. We'll take it step by step, and you're not alone in this process. With each session, we'll work towards helping you unburden yourself from yesterday's struggles and shape a path towards a brighter and more fulfilling future.

Gratitude ✨

Practicing gratitude can have a very positive impact on our mental health & general experience of life, including how we relate to others.

Even if we are not naturally inclined to feel grateful, it is possible to build our capacity by practicing it.

We need to bring our attention to what we are grateful for, noticing and consciously identifying those moments, situations, and the feeling of gratitude will flow more easily.

Keeping a journal can help us establish this daily practice.
We can recall moments connected to experiences, events, the people we value in our life, our personal attributes or states and things we experience that otherwise we take for granted.
