The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have led UCrea to rethink how we are using the technology and expertise in 3D printing we have developed. N95 type masks are in high demand in Quebec and in Canada and with millions of masks obtained from China that did not meet quality standards it is obvious that Quebec needs to work towards supplying its own N95 type masks. Three weeks of work and more than 60 iterations later, we are proud to present to you our feild-test prototype. We are working to obtain a N95 certification. Our next step is to obtain results on the filtration efficiency of our masks from the IRSST. We are also looking forward to obtaining test results from a series of ‘’fit-tests’’ realised at the Montreal general Hospital this weekend. We will be updating you soon!

UCrea has been helping manufacture visors crucial to frontline healthcare workers battling COVID-19.

We have dedicated several of our machines to the production of 3D printed PETG headbands.

UCrea partnered with the Protection Collective, a network of dozens of volunteers and 50+ manufacturing, assembly and distribution partners.

We are proud to be supporting a movement that has already helped thousands of workers get the personal protection equipment they need in a time of shortage.

In Italy, about 10 patients are currently being treated from COVID-19 with the help of a machine equipped with a 3D printed valve. The printed parts work great and helped in facing the emergency situation.

Our Story

Our offering

After realizing dozens of projects around 3D print, working in the biomedical industry and completing his bachelor at McGill in mechanical engineering, Ethienne Racine launched UCrea. Our mission: offering affordable, high quality 3D printing as a solution to small and medium businesses with needs in rapid prototyping, small batch manufacturing and production of complex or personalized geometries. Our online platform makes ordering simple. All this allows our customers to focus on what they do best: Bringing great ideas to life.

Our beginnings

At 18, Ethienne was intrigued by the movement around democratization of 3D printing. He decided to build his own 3D printer. Back at the time, 3D printing was not as accessible as it is now. Ethienne was quickly approached to sell replicas of his machine. After iterating over his design, he offered multiple workshops and created kits to assemble a 3D printer. After competing and making it to the finals of the McGill Dobson cup entrepreneurial competition, Ethienne continued his startup work around 3D printing after graduating in 2018 and settled on the current business model later that year.
