Hi everyone. I have been very inactive with this site the last few months, there is reason for that. It was brought to my attention over the late winter that there is a tarot reader in South Carolina that uses the same name as this one. I was tagged in a metaphysical event happening there. As I was getting messages from people wanting to book private sessions, and upset that I'm not local to them, I decided to rebrand. I've been working the last few months on this. I think I have narrowed everything down to a new name that I really like, that's unique to me. Please keep an eye out over the next little while for those changes here.

Before I get started I want to make a note that I've decided to make a small adjustment to what I originally planned to do with this series of weekly posts related to zodiac and tarot of the week/period related to the card. I am going to add aspects of both the major arcana card that relates to the whole zodiac sign and the minor arcana card that relates to the card.

That being said, lets get started.

This week's deck: Revelations Tarot by Zach Wong (Please note that this deck pictures both the upright and reverse images, so it looks different from many traditional decks)
Zodiac sign: Capricorn
Major Arcana card: The Devil
Minor Arcana card: 3 of Pentacles
Dates: January 1-9

Capricorn
Elemental: Earth (Grounded, worldly, money/financial aspects, stubborn, responsibility, long term planning, seeks harmony)
Ruler: Saturn (represents restrictions of all kinds and makes Capricorns practical, and responsible, but also cold, distant, prone to feeling guilt, tend to run away.)
Symbol: Ram (Goat with the tail of a fish to face fear and create panic. It's the sign of decisions made to face your inner demons, lives and physical surroundings. They are brave enough to never run away but constantly afraid of their inner demons.)
Traits: (Strengths)traditional, serious by nature, responsible, disciplined, self control, good managers. (Weaknesses) Know-it-all, condescending, expecting the worst. (Likes) Family, tradition, music, understated status, quality craftsmanship. (Dislikes) Almost everything at some point.

3 of Pentacles
Elemental: Earth (Grounded, worldly, money/financial aspects, stubborn, responsibility, long term planning, seeks harmony)
Imagery: (Based on Rider Waite decks) Craftsman standing before 2 architects, mallet and chisel in hand, creating/crafting a cathedral. This insinuates that the crafter is essential to cathedrals completion and the architects want to ensure that everyone is on the same page. In the deck being used today, the man holding the mallet and chisel is working hard to craft the pentacles, happy and proud of the last details of the job he's completing.
Message/Traits: Skills, Learning, Apprenticeship. Skills that have learned will be put to good use. Act of creation will be reward enough for you. All efforts will be rewarded. Card foretells investment in labour needed to reach a goal, push past comfort for a new level of connection. Could be planning or conferring .

The Devil
Elemental: Earth (Grounded, worldly, money/financial aspects, stubborn, responsibility, long term planning, seeks harmony)
Imagery: (Based on Rider Waite cards) Goat or midevil christian devil with horns, hooves, pitchfork. Two small humans, one male and one female; sitting at feet, bound by loose chains that are easily escaped from. (Based on today's deck) A human-like male with horns and dragon-like wings perches himself, resting arms on a wreath filled with coins, a male and female human-like figures loosely chained to the wreath. A small building shadowed in flames in the background.
Message/traits: Despite the forlorn look of the devil, it is not necessarily a negative card. Much like the traits of the planet Saturn that rules Capricorn, the chains symbolize bo***ge that one can easily overcome if they put effort into dealing with their own inner demons. The card grounds itself to the earth and fuels lust and desires that can be satisfied by the flesh. It can warn of money overtaking one. The items that money can bring this person can bring satisfaction to him/her. It can also warn of being too driven by ultimate goal of profit (wealth or stature).

Hello Everyone!

I know I have not done a card a day in a few days. Reason is that I have been spending some time looking into alternate content for you all. Since I have a section on my card-a-day series about astrological connection, I decided to do a weekly series starting January 1 on how astrology is related to various zodiac signs and how it connects to tarot.

Each week I will post a card that relates to the dates of that week, and explain how it relates not only to your birthday and/or personality (potentially), but how it relates to Tarot, the effect it potentially has on the reading, and what it means for both you (the one getting the reading) and me (the one doing the reading). I hope that by digging further into this, it will all not only help you to understand tarot a little more, but also help me to use my books less and read my cards more.

Today I am going to put forward in this post, basic information that I have found on various websites about the connection between tarot and astrology. Some of the more detailed information, I will include in the weekly information, to both reduce the size of this post, and give more content to the weekly posts.

Here it goes!

Astrology is the mathematical scientific study of the stars that was created/founded in late 1800's that focuses on the movement and placement of celestial bodies with respect to the individual person. Astrology uses the same elements as tarot (Air, Fire, Earth, Water), and each astrological sign connects to certain characteristics that many believe can potentially relate to characteristics within the person of any certain star sign (zodiac).

Tarot, as briefly mentioned previously, is the mystical science, symbolism and intuition used by the readers to relay a message to the person requesting the reading to help with spiritual enlightenment.

Astrology and Tarot are connected in the following ways. They both relate to each of the different elements (as mentioned above). In the same way that each of the zodiac signs relates to one of these elements, so do the different tarot suits and cards. Some of the characteristics within the element relate to each of the zodiac and also relate to the different tarot cards/suits. This helps the reader to interpret the message in the cards. Some also believe that if the card that relates to your zodiac comes up in a reading, it could boost the energy of the reading.

I am super excited to share this card today. The second I turned it over o was instantly excited, felt all warm and bubbly. It instantly filled me with all the positive energy my little body could contain. So, here it is.

Today's post is a list of 5 myth and the corresponding facts about Tarot.

MYTH: Tarot is dangerous.
Some people think that tarot is the work of the devil or witches. (Satanists, Wiccans, etc.) This is not the case.
FACT: Tarot is not dangerous.
Though if not used properly it is possible to use tarot for ill intentions, this doesn't mean that every tarot reader will be using this skill for those purposes. In fact, the Major Arcana cards contain cards that represent 4 archangels. The Lovers are represented by Raphael/Michael (There is debate about which represents love). Temperance is represented by an unknown archangel (Some think this is Gabriel). The Devil (some think Lucifer, some think Uriel) is actually an archangel. Finally Judgement is represented by Gabriel blowing his trumpet and calling spirits forward.

MYTH: To read Tarot you need to have special powers.
FACT: Though there are many psychics, empaths etc. that use tarot as a tool for the use of their abilities, tarot does not require the person using them to have these abilities. Tarot is a skill or art that can be learned by anyone.

MYTH: Tarot cards are never wrong.
FACT: Because of the fact that tarot does not bring magic, or foretell future, Tarot cards are not what is wrong. What people often mistake for a wrong card is often a misinterpretation by the reader, or possibly a poorly asked question.

MYTH: The Death and/or Devil card always indicate that someone is going to die or the devil is involved.
FACT: Though depending on the reason for the reading, and questions asked, these cards can indicate the obvious, more often this is not the case. These cards often represent the end of a cycle, and/or changes. When the death card comes up, it often means change is inevitable.

MYTH: Tarot is only used for telling the future.
FACT: Again, though there are readers that use tarot as a tool for telling the future, this is not the common use of the majority of tarot readers. Most readers use this as a guide for present than future. They use it as a guide for what you are doing in your life, or what you may want to do to change something.

Card a Day

One method I have been using to learn this craft is pulling one card every day. I take a few minutes at some point during the day to meditate, shuffle my deck, pull a card, and contemplate it's meaning and the message my Spirit Guides have for me that day.

Blue Empress Tarot is a site/page I set up to make it easier, as my skills and knowledge in tarot grows, where people can come to ask for readings. I feel eventually things will grow to the point where I need to manage my time to fit readings in. I thought this would be a good place to do that so I don't have to give my phone number out to the millions. At this time, because I still am learning, I am only offering readings for my friends, family, and close associates.
