Our thoughts can be helpful—or hurtful. The same is true for how we think about stress and our response to it. When we view stress as a challenge rather than a threat, it can help shift our perspective and how we respond.

The next time you notice yourself caught in worried or stressful thoughts, pause and ask:
• What do I actually know to be true?
• What resources or supports do I have available to help me handle this?

Want more support navigating stress? Book an appointment today and let’s work on strategies that actually help.

Today is National Stress Awareness Day.
Over the past week, we’ve talked about stress, capacity, and how our systems respond under pressure. Today, take a moment to check in with yourself:

How am I feeling today? (Name it, to tame it)
What’s one thing that would feel supportive or helpful for me today?

Stress isn’t all bad—it can motivate and focus us—but it’s also a signal to pay attention. Need support navigating stress? Book an appointment today and let’s work together on strategies that actually help.

Resilience isn’t always about carrying more.

Sometimes it’s about carrying less.
Or not carrying it alone.

Reducing the load
and increasing support
are both part of staying stable.

Your capacity can change over time.

Stress, grief, trauma, and burnout
don’t just pass through-
they can reshape what you’re able to carry.

That isn’t weakness.
It’s how systems respond to pressure.

Today is “Look Up at the Sky” Day (or April 14, depending on who you ask).

But really—every day is a good day to pause and look up at the sky. In my recent posts I’ve been talking about stress and the idea that we all have a stress capacity—a limit to how much pressure our systems can comfortably carry. Small pauses can help us recover from that pressure.

Taking a moment to shift your gaze upward and step out of the rush of the day can help regulate your nervous system and reduce stress. Try it a few times throughout your day, or end the evening with a bit of stargazing. Notice what happens when you give yourself this small pause. Even a tiny shift in attention can help lighten the load we’re carrying.

No structure can hold unlimited weight.

When something breaks,
it means the load was too much for too long.

Burnout and exhaustion aren’t failures.
They’re signals.

Your capacity isn’t fixed.

Sometimes things feel heavier
not because they changed-
but because you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time.

Stress isn’t just about the load.
It’s about how much capacity you have to hold it.

Stress isn’t the problem.
It’s a response.

A signal that something is asking for your energy and attention.

In small amounts, it can help.
Without recovery, it starts to take a toll.

Today I invite you to step outside and 'take a walk in the park'. As you stroll, pause for a moment and notice something that makes you smile. Listen to the birds singing. Feel the sun warming your face. Watch the trees sway gently in the breeze. Or maybe simply appreciate the gift of peace and quiet. Sometimes the smallest moments in nature bring the greatest sense of joy.
