Something fun you might not know about Dr. Miller is that he sang in many different choirs during his youth and young adults. Since getting married he and his wife have been asked by family and friends to sing together at different events including weddings and funerals.

We were both touched listening to this the other night and wanted to share it with all of you.

Without ever singing together in person, over 60 physicians from the city of Calgary met online to simply build a community through music. They created this ...

This is what Dr. Miller’s procedure room looked like 4 years ago, the first week he started seeing patients at the clinic. Some things have changed, some have stayed the same, it’s been a lot of work and thousands of patients later we still love helping people feel better every day.

Tyler Shandro is trying to make changes to the Health Professions Act (HPA). It could mean that the organizations you trust to ensure the safety of your healthcare are no longer independent.

The HPA empowers independent regulatory bodies to protect and serve the public interest. Health professionals look to these regulatory bodies to develop, maintain and enforce professional regulations, standards of practice and codes of ethics. This keeps us all safe.

Now the Health Minister is proposing that he get some of the power held by independent regulatory bodies. Tyler Shandro wants more power over the regulations and standards that protect the public. Why?
will be undergoing a series of posts to examine the proposed changes and how they might help healthcare become more profit-driven, than patient-driven. Please note, these are all theoretical situations as Tyler has not told any one what his ultimate plan for healthcare delivery and private health insurance companies are.

Proposal #12: Provide for the approval of professional regulations by the Minister rather than the Lieutenant Governor in Council (LGIC).

This is just an obvious power grab.

I could tell you about a theoretical situation where Tyler Shandro used this power to reduce "red-tape" that prevented large foreign corporations from providing healthcare at a profit. The pandemic has taught us what happens when profits come before patient care.

Please like our page, join other grassroots advocacy groups (post your suggestions in comments) and learn how you can stand up against the systemic destruction of public healthcare and public education in Alberta. We can create a strong future for our children, if we can just put them ahead of corporations.

Please be patient with us over the next week as the impact of this event will be felt by all in the medical field across the province. You would never expect such an event to occur just by going to work at a job where you are trying to help others.

A Red Deer physician died Monday after he was attacked in an examination room at the Village Mall walk-in clinic.

Our doctor and staff would like to pass along our condolences to the family of the doctor killed in Red Deer this morning while at work at his clinic. We also wish to express to the staff, colleagues and patients of the clinic that our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

We are posting this story because in it there are two helpful links. The first one will help assess your COVID-19 risk if exposed, and the second allows you access to your medical records.

Alberta reported 304 new cases of COVID-19 over the past three days and added eight more deaths to a growing total that has now reached 186.

First, to all 4.3 million Albertans — our patients — on behalf of Alberta’s physicians, we are sorry it’s come to this. Our priority is, and always will be, your care. But things are about to get noisy, and we may need your help. Over the past six months, Alberta’s physicians through the A...

If you are currently unable to get your botox treatments for migraine headaches from your usual provide we do have some good news. Both Dr. Miller and Dr. Griffith have been approved to continue botox treatments for migraines at this time and the process is simple.

1) Call your family doctor schedule and virtual consult with them and get them to send a referral for botox migraines to our clinic. Make sure they include the last day you received your treatment so we can ensure you stay on schedule.

2) Wait for a phone call from one of our nurses to schedule you for an initial virtual consult with one of our doctors, and you will be brought in the next day for your treatment.

Depending on your drug plan we have botox provided to our clinic and after one or two phone calls your insurance will be direct billed, you will have a small co-pay at times of $25, but the cost of the doctor's service is billed to Alberta Health Care as long as you are between the ages of 18-64.

Because we know there are many out there in need of this service our doctors are setting aside extra time to meet the demand. We do not want migraine patients suffering or ending up in the ER as a result of being unable to receive their botox treatments.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact our clinic and one of staff will try to assist you in any way possible.
