At Westbridge Pharmacy, we consider ourselves a Health Solutions Centre.

We often receive the comment that people have called a bunch of pharmacies with a problem or question and we were the first ones to try to help.

Here are some problems that we solve on a regular basis:

1. Difficulty administering meds to kids or animals- we compound different dosage forms to help work this out. When a formulation doesn’t exist, we work with our team and a team of consultants to develop one that works best for the patient.
2. Troubles remembering to take medications or getting confused with blister packs - we have a machine that pouch packages medications into plastic strips in chronological order. Each pouch is labelled with the person’s name, the date, the time, the name of each medication, and the number of each medication. This makes it much easier to see whether you took your dose or not. This is helpful for patients with many medications, as well as those with just a few. They are for people of all ages. We have many families that use this service for their kids who have ADHD, to simplify their lives.
3. Finding medications that are in short supply - we work with other pharmacies to ensure that we can get you what you need. If we can’t provide it, we will send you to another pharmacy that has it in stock. We are here for you.
4. Needing medical advice - we will answer questions and do research to help find you answers and solutions. When we come up with a plan together, we will send a letter to your doctor to advocate on your behalf. We try to take your individual needs and preferences into consideration so that we can get a result that is optimized for you.
5. Hormone Problems - we can do testing and work with your prescriber to find a solution that works for you.
6. Out of medications and can’t get in to see your doctor? - we can prescribe and fill medication to last until your appointment.
7. Too busy to make it into the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions? - we provide free delivery all over the city
8. Only remember to refill prescriptions before or after the pharmacy is open? - you can order refills from us anytime of the day or night by texting (587) 800-8260 with the word “refill” followed by a space and then the prescription number. We can also give you a login so that you can visually see your medications and order from there.
9. Not sure if your prescription is ready for pickup? - we can send a text message to you when your prescriptions are ready for pickup, so you can focus on living your life.

Travelling this month? A medications and health supplies checklist will ensure you have everything you’ll need while you’re away.

Your checklist should include:
• Medical supplies, like diabetes testing materials, inhalers, and/or epinephrine auto-injectors if you have a severe allergy.
• Items you keep in your medicine cupboard at home, like diarrhea medication, antihistamines, motion sickness medicine, and a decongestant.
• All daily prescription medications, including extra doses in case your return home is delayed.
