Pop Up Yoga Lethbridge

Pop Up Yoga Lethbridge Weekly Yoga for the community since 2014. 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings since 2020. Pop-Up Yoga Lethbridge, established 2015.

We aim to make yoga accessible to as many people as possible by creating an inclusive and accessible space. We have proudly done so since 2015 by operating on an anonymous payment system (pay what you can) in a humble attempt to remove barriers to the practice. We ask that those that can pay for their practices do so (sliding scale of $5-$15/class), and those that cannot at this time, join us (no questions asked).
Etransfers can be made to: popupyogalethbridge@gmail.com
. We truly thank you for your generous support; it’s key to ensuring we can continue to run our programs for (hopefully) a long, long time to come.

If you take a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you will want to be in the care of someone who has developed the skill set of energy management and is deeply attuned to the group’s collective nervous system.

A 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training will ask a lot from you, and you will get out of it what you put in. That said, just like knowing intelligent yoga asana sequencing is imperative so you aren’t overtaxing a joint in the body, it’s key that we have an optimal flow in our intensive weekends together so we reach our learning saturation point while maintaining an enthusiasm to continue on.

Read on below for a brief idea of what to expect in a weekend training.

8am: Yoga Asana, Meditation, Pranayama

10am: Breakfast Break

10:15am - 12:30pm: Group discussion, Technique, Method and Alignment study of the Yoga Asana practice just completed. Discussion on the 8 Limb Path will guide our discussions on philosophy and personal self-study.

12:30pm - 1:30pm: Lunch Break

1:30pm - 3:30pm: Restorative Practices including Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga. Group discussion on Alignment and Posture Study, understanding Sequencing Methodology and Teacher / Student dynamics and ethics.

3:30pm - 3:45pm: Afternoon Break

3:45pm - 5:30pm: Each Weekend will offer a different focus and theme. Our Self-study and inquiry will direct these closing discussions with topics ranging from the study of Loving Kindness Meditation theory to the History of Modern Yoga, Filming Classes and building a business in line with your authenticity and vision.

5:30pm - 6:00pm: Closing Weekend in gratitude and in group.

About the Instructor (in her words):

Hey friends!
I’m Jenna, and I am a long time lover and practitioner of yoga. I began teaching in June of 2024, and have been popping up all over the city ever since.

These days you can find me teaching community classes with Amber Wyse out of The Hut (1005 9th ave south,) subbing out at Twisted Steel in Coaldale, as well as teaching some Monday night classes with Courtney Samuels and Heidi Davis.

Students can expect a class with the opportunity to get really curious about where their bodies are in space. We will play around with some cross body movements, moving around the mat, and hopefully find some joy and giggles along the way.

Students can also expect a playlist likely heavy on Fleetwood Mac. If you know, then you know.

Each trainee gleans different wisdom from the vast teachings that yoga holds.

Whether you never want to teach others or teaching others is a big part of the progress and progression of your life, this program will hold value for you.

LEAD TEACHER: ALIGN 200 HR YTT, SHONNA LAMB, E-RYT500.

I was 12 when I remember reading my first Zen Buddhism book (rode my bike to the library for that bad boy). My University major was philosophy. I had big questions at a young age like:
- who put me in this body,
- who’s moving this hand (if I twinkle the fingers) and
- who decided to give me so much power like controlling my breath and free will to make decisions?

I grew up watching my Chinese grandmother practice Tai Chi every morning of her life until she was 99 years old.

In many ways from as young as I could remember, I had been seeking the sacred and altered states of consciousness, including thru laughter. I had grown up watching spiritual discipline of my elder fill the space of her home in a luminous (Sattvic) way.

From as early as I can remember, my nature craved freedom and I was easily disciplined when something piqued my interest that I wanted to learn. I liked feeling strong in my body and doing things that made me feel alive.

Fast forward, these concepts still continue to guide me.

My daily yoga practice began at Harvest Yoga studio in 2014. I haven’t taken more than 10 days off since I began. They say you’re not ready till you’re ready and when you’re ready it’s perfect timing. I began teaching in my 30’s once my heart was molded to that of a mother.

My Yoga resume would share that I have accumulated over 4000 teaching hours since I began teaching in 2014.

One time in a 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, I was called a Secret Shopper; a generous compliment speaking to my ability to translate large yoga concepts into bite-sized, digestible pieces for those beginning to study these sacred texts.

My Yoga resume would share that I have over 1600 hours in continued education.

I am honoured, excited and reflective to facilitate this final 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in YQL. These past 11 years in the Southern AB yoga community have graced me with more than I could ever give thanks for.

I invite you to join me for study in our upcoming 200 Hour YTT or stop by for one of my final classes before I turn the Pop Up Yoga reins over to another to hold, grow and guide.

Shanti
