I am actively engaged in the learning process to become a skilled Birth and Post-Partum Doula. Prior to this journey, I worked as a crisis intervention worker, disability support worker, and advocate for those who have experience sexual assault and abuse. The shared aspect among these roles is that I was tasked with supporting individuals and equipping them with the necessary information, guidance, and advocacy to empower them in taking charge of their lives and making informed decisions. As a mother of two children, I have experienced both emergency c-section and VBAC deliveries. I strongly advocate for every individual to have a positive birth experience, where they can exercise autonomy, make choices, and feel comfortable. I firmly believe that providing relevant and evidence-based knowledge can empower individuals to shape the birth experiences they desire. In addition to my qualifications and experience, I possess a diverse range of interests and hobbies that we may utilize for reflection and comparison if shared. My goal is to maintain professionalism in all my interactions, while also embracing my individuality. I often incorporate my hobbies and interests to provide references and explanations for various emotions and situations. Hunger games, Harry Potter, Twilight, PS4, hunting, arts and crafts.
