I honestly didn’t feel like doing my strength training today.

But I reminded myself why I started — to stay strong for my future self.

Strength means being able to move freely, improve my balance now and for the future, protect my bones, and feel capable in my own body.

So I showed up. Even when I didn’t feel like it.

For the past ten years, I’ve made a fresh batch of elderberry syrup as the colder months roll in. It’s become a small seasonal ritual — simmering berries, honey, and spices filling the kitchen with that rich, comforting scent that somehow feels like warmth itself.

Elderberries have long been known for their immune-supporting properties — packed with antioxidants, vitamin C, and anti-inflammatory compounds that help the body stay resilient through flu and cold season. Some studies suggest they may even help reduce the duration and severity of colds if you do get sick.

Beyond the science, it’s also about slowing down for a moment — stirring something with care, knowing it’s a way to nourish your body naturally. A spoonful a day feels like a small act of kindness to yourself in winter.

Do you have any seasonal rituals or remedies that help you feel grounded and well through the colder months?

It came finally! I'm so excited to get this box opened and start using it on the next part of my healing journey! Not exactly yoga related but still necessary for a healthy body.

Any guesses as to what it may be?

I took these photos a week ago. They will always remind me to take the time to enjoy the beauty all around you. Its there in the small things and even the larger things.

The moment I step outside, I feel my whole body soften. The sunlight is gentle on my eyes, so different from screens, and nature seems to remind my nervous system to slow down. The sounds of birds and leaves feel like a calming rhythm, telling me it’s safe to just be. Simple, free, and always soothing—sunlight and nature really are medicine. 🌿☀️

Today we went to Bancroft to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and the vibrant leaves on the trees. Tom also wanted some sodalite to tumble so a side trip to Princess sodalite mine was next. It was a good day as I was able to find a few good pieces of sodalite for him.

Sometimes we think we’ve lost our way if life when really, life is just guiding us in a new direction.

Changing paths doesn’t mean failure — it can mean growth. Sometimes the road you planned isn’t the one that leads you to your truest self. Detours, shifts, and unexpected turns can be the very things that help you discover who you are and what you really need.

Trust that it’s okay to pause, pivot, and choose differently. You’re not losing your way — you’re finding yourself.

It’s been one of those weeks where everything just feels heavy, like the weight of the world is sitting on my shoulders. Today I knew I needed to step away and let nature do its work.

The soothing sound of the brook, the sun warming my face, fluffy clouds drifting by, and the simple joy of moving my body—it was exactly what my spirit needed. Honoring my body’s call for movement and self-care gave me space to release some of that weight.

Sometimes the kindest thing we can do for ourselves is pause, listen, and give our bodies and minds what they truly need. Nature therapy never disappoints. I walked away feeling lighter, calmer, and a little more myself again.

Peace doesn’t come from everything going perfectly.
It comes from noticing the little blessings in the middle of ordinary days—the warmth of the sun, the steady grounding presence of the trees, a kind word, a quiet pause to breathe.

Like trees that stand tall through every season, peace is rooted in the simple moments we so often overlook.

There’s a deep healing that comes from simply resting in nature’s presence. The sound of waves crashing against the shore has a way of washing over us, carrying away the noise and stress we hold inside. As the sun sets and the sky turns vibrant with color, it feels like the world is offering a gentle reminder: slow down, breathe, and allow yourself to just be. In these quiet, awe-filled moments, we realize that rest isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity, and nature is one of our greatest healers.
