Holidays can be a wonderful time to spend time with family and friends. It can also be a time that we feel stress and pressure to make everything perfect. Family expectations, too many choices, and concerns about spending beyond your budget can make anyone go from "jolly" to "grinchy"

Here are some holiday survival tips:

🎄don't be afraid to say 'no' to events or activities if you are feeling tired or overwhelmed.
🎄give yourself the gift of relaxation by getting organized, preparing ahead of the celebration and delegating jobs to others
🎄give the gift of time or handmade/homemade gifts - sometimes these gifts are cherished more than the most expensive store bought item
🎄take breaks - sit down, take some deep breaths, make a hot chocolate or simply sing a carol or two
🎄laugh - watch a funny holiday movie, tell some silly jokes or look at old family holiday photos

Remember there is no rule book on holiday celebrations. Keep the traditions that bring you joy and maybe create a few new ones that are simple and focus on spending time with those you love.

Improper shoveling techniques can lead to muscle strain, back injuries, and joint pain.

Follow these tips to stay pain free.

❄️Warm Up Before You Shovel
Cold muscles are more prone to injury. Before heading out, take 5–10 minutes to warm up
❄️Choose the Right Shovel
The right equipment makes a big difference.
❄️Use Proper Lifting Techniques:
Stand with feet hip-width apart for stability.
Bend at the knees, not the waist, to lift the snow.
Keep your back straight and engage your core.
Avoid twisting your torso—turn your whole body to throw snow.
Push snow instead of lifting whenever possible.
❄️Pace Yourself and Take Breaks
Shoveling is a workout! To prevent fatigue work in short intervals
❄️Listen to your body
If you feel pain, stop and rest
❄️Know When to Ask for Help
If you have a history of back pain, heart conditions, or mobility issues, consider alternatives:
Ask a family member or neighbor for assistance.
Use a snowblower if available.
Hire a snow removal service for heavy snowfalls.

Shoveling doesn’t have to result in pain or injury. By following these tips you can keep your body protected and your driveway clear.

Holiday shopping is fun in theory. In actuality, you’re looking at crowds, long lines at the checkout counters and hours spent carrying heavy and awkwardly shaped bags full of presents. Do yourself — and your back — a favor follow these tips to avoid back & neck strains and pains.

-Wear comfortable and supportive shoes and practice good posture
-Walk at a good pace. Dawdling and slow walking is a common cited trigger for back pain
-Carry the weight of the bags evenly in both hands
-Take frequent breaks to move around and stretch your back, shoulders, and neck, or have a seat and rest, ideally every 30 minutes
-Remember everything you know about lifting heavy items correctly. Bend from your knees, not your waist, and don’t carry more than you can handle.
-Make several trips to your car to drop off your bags to help lighten the load or use a backpack to help distribute the weight.
-Have a list and idea of what you are wanting to get before going
-Don’t hesitate to ask for help - even Santa has elves
