Physiotherapy is effective for a long list of health problems. Although many of our patients come seeking relief from their back pain, our devoted staff is also skilled at treating the following issues too!
Athletes and sports enthusiasts often suffer muscle sprains, ligament sprains, dislocations and fractures. Electrical modalities, ultrasounds, massage, strengthening, stretching and range of motion (ROM) exercises are all treatment options that have proven effective for these types of
Accidental injuries, whether they be motor vehicle or work-related, can be treated with physiotherapy. While specific methods rely on the injury in question, your physiotherapist will focus on reducing your pain and optimizing healing.
Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, but it causes many changes to a woman’s body. Back pain, pelvic pain and urinary tract incontinence are common complaints we hear from pregnant (and recently pregnant) women. Training programs designed by physiotherapists have been proven effective at treating these issues.
Fifteen percent of Canadians have problems with chronic pain that begins as a minor injury and never heals. Physiotherapists are specially trained in assessing this pain and restoring everyday mobility.
Bone ailments such as osteoporosis can cause significant pain and discomfort, on top of increasing the risk of fractures. Weight-bearing, flexibility, and strengthening exercises are some of the methods used in physiotherapy to provide relief.
In order to stay healthy, regular exercise (or physical therapy) is important. When performed correctly, physiotherapy can promote weight loss and substantially improve health.
Surgery is hard on the human body, and physiotherapy is an effective way to restore optimal mobility, strengthen weakened muscles, and compensate for functional loss.
Breast cancer patients can experience draining side-effects from chemotherapy and radiation, even once the treatments are over. Your physiotherapist can help reduce fatigue and well-being and/or reduce post-mastectomy pain and swelling.
Vertigo, dizziness, and balance problems can occur at any age and oftentimes with no diagnosable cause. While physiotherapists may not be able to identify the source of the vertigo, they can work with you to help reduce or eliminate symptoms and regain balance.
