The Full Harvest Moon is tonight, and it’s a Supermoon!
The Harvest Moon, also sometimes called the Hunters Moon, symbolizes gratitude, abundance, reaping the growth from what you had sown, as well as the transition into autumn.
Autumn is a shift period, as the energy begins to wane moving towards winter. Crops are harvested, the air is more crisp as the suns heat fades, leaves begin to change and fall.
Supermoons have heightened energy, amplifying the work you do with it. (Think of it as a magickal energy boost)
Along with this, the Full Moon symbolizes reflection and release.
What have you harvested? What has begun to fade? What can you let go of?
If you are called to work with the Moon’s energy, take this time to both reflect and release.
🍁🌕🍁 Harvest Moon Release Ritual 🍁🌕🍁
What you need:
• a few fallen leaves (drier ones work best, bay leaves will work if you don’t have dry fallen leaves)
• pen/marker
• candle
• matches/lighter
• fire safe container (cauldron, tin can or tray, fire pit)
Begin by finding a quiet space; settle yourself in and ground yourself. Focus on your breath, connect with the energy surrounding you.
Light your candle. (Fire symbolizes warmth as well as being a tool for transformation.)
Take some time to reflect on what has come to fruition, what you are grateful for, from the last season and/or since the last Full Moon.
Let that energy, the feelings that come long with it, surround you and anchor in you.
Next, turn your focus to what has played out its purpose, what hasn’t come to fruition and has stalled, what is holding you back and can be released.
Write a the things you are ready to let go of on your leaves (one thing or thought per leaf).
One by one, hold each leaf in the flame of your candle to ignite it. Place each burning leaf in your fire safe container. As you do so, envision letting the thing go from your being, cut ties with its energy, and let the fire clear it and the smoke from it carry it away.
Take your time, let each thing you release lift from your energy, send it on its way. Continue until you have burned all of your leaves.
Once you are done, you can dispose of the ashes (once cooled) by either throwing them into the garbage or dispersing them into the wind. Extinguish your candle.
For an additional embrace of this energy and support in release, join me tomorrow night from 6:30-7:45pm at Quietude for Somatic Flow and further release from your physical self! This class is open to all genders. There are a few more spots available! 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏽🧘🏻♂️
