🌷 Happy April!! 🌷

It’s the first of the month which means… It’s Cornstarch time!!

Want to thicken up your abundance? Throw some cornstarch through all of your doorways! For good measure, throw some at your windows, floor, and ceiling too!!

All jokes aside (please don’t throw or blow cornstarch around your house…unless you feel like cleaning forever! Ask me how I know… šŸ˜’), it IS April 1st, which means it’s CINNAMON time!! (Substitute cinnamon in the graphic where it says cornstarch)

*ground cinnamon is not pet safe, so either sweep it up right away or use an incense or abundance spray instead.

A new month brings new energy and endless new opportunities, why not call them in and claim them?

Instead of focusing on what you don’t like, what isn’t working, what has gone wrong, give yourself permission to dream, to tap into your desires and what you DO want to happen this month, what you are ready to accept (although abundance is often wanted, it’s not always as easy to accept it).

šŸ’œ NOTE: Abundance doesn’t NOT have to be money related!

You can call in an abundance of love, job opportunities, calm, happiness, experiences, or anything else you desire. It can also be money/financial though.

Our bodies store all the things we aren’t allowed (either by others or ourselves) to feel and don’t process.

Anger

Grief

Loneliness

Rage

Sorrow

Invalidation

And so many more big and heavy emotions.

As women, we’re told to suck it up, to be quiet about it, that it’s ā€œjust how things areā€, that we’re being too emotional/too much/over-exaggerating, and so we shove it down.

What we don’t allow ourselves to feel, we cannot heal and release.

This class invites you to embrace your fiery feminine energy that encompasses those heavy feelings, bring them forward into the present, and let them out in order to release! We then move into the gentle feminine energy to nurture, validate, soothe, and honour you.

Did you know that not everything you carry energetically is yours?

As we move through our day, we pick up energies from other spaces, people, situations, and even things we pass by and don’t notice.

Think of it like walking through the brush and picking up burrs on your clothing.

You maybe don’t notice at first.

You don’t really want them on you.

They don’t have a beneficial purpose for you.

And they can be tricky to pick off one by one.

This happens with energy too.

Trying to pick off energy you gather that isn’t yours, one thing by one thing, can feel like and endless process.

Today we welcome and celebrate the Spring Equinox (the first day of spring) and Ostara.

The Spring Equinox is one of two days where there is ā€œequalā€ night and day.

Ostara is one of 8 celebrations on the Pagan Wheel of the Year. Ostara, pronounced OW-STAA-RUH, honours the returning warmth from the sun, the earth awakening again, rebirth, new beginnings.

Ostara gets its name from the Germanic Goddess Eostre, she's the Goddess of dawn and new beginnings. Eostre/Ostara is where the Catholic celebration name Easter came from.

Other Deities associated with Ostara are:
Freya (Norse Goddess)
Persephone (Greek Goddess)
Cybele (Anatolian Goddess)
Brigid (Celtic Goddess)
Flora (Roman Goddess)
Osiris (Egyptian God)
Zephyros (Greek God)
Balder (Norse God)

This is a fertile energy time, and just as new animal and plant life begins to grow, our natural human energy begins to grow as well.

This is a wonderful time to decide on plans for the season, what intentions you are going to plant and grow into manifesting, and then set those plans into action.

Take a moment today to step outside, take in nature, feel the energy shifting!

Just because you can ā€œlookā€ ok doesn’t mean you feel ok.

One of the reasons I am so passionate about what I do, regulating the nervous system, supporting other women in their journeys, offering guidance, is because I have been there.

I’ve been in a space that felt like I wasn’t going to ever get out.

A space where I had no idea who I was anymore, how I could feel so ā€œlowā€ when I logically knew I had so much to be grateful for, how I was going to keep keeping things together, and how I’d ever be a ā€œgood enoughā€ mom to my kids.

To almost everyone else, I looked like the woman in the first pic that had it together, but I constantly felt like the one in the second… crumbling and somehow numb, desperate and failing.

I struggled with postpartum depression, minimal support (mentally, emotionally, and physically) in the home, add in my limiting beliefs about having to do it all myself and not being able to ask for help or I’d be a burden and ā€œweakā€ and that if I couldn’t do it with ease, I was a failure.

My nervous system was so far from regulated, and I had no idea what that even meant or was. I was just trying to hang on for dear life.

Until I felt like I hit rock bottom and decided I needed to somehow climb my way up.

I started reconnecting with my body, my breathe, checking in with myself, writing lists of what I felt vs what the facts and logical actuality was, opening the conversation with my mind and body with what I needed.

It wasn’t an overnight thing, it didn’t happen quick, and I still have work to do (there are lots of other variables and traumas in my self journey).

But it wouldn’t have ever happened if I hadn’t made myself take the first baby steps in ā€œI don’t want to live like this anymoreā€.

So when I say I understand, I’ve been there, I’ve felt it too, I care… I truly mean it.

Even if our stories are different, if our experiences aren’t the same, I see you, I hear you, I support you.

STOP!! (No, not in the name of love or Hammer time)

Yup, right now! Stop scrolling.

How are you breathing?

I mean are you breathing through your nose or your mouth?

Is your breath quick or slow?

Are they full, deep breaths, or are then short and shallow?

Does your breath feel forced or does it flow with ease?

Is it comfortable or does it feel anxious?

Can you feel your ribcage expand and retract?

You’ve probably never had so many questions about you breath.

But take a moment and answer them for yourself. I challenge you.

How you are breathing is important.

It’s signal to your body, mind, and nervous system.

Short, rapid, forced, uncomfortable breaths means your might feeling a bit ā€œoffā€, anxious, tired, unsettled, unfocused.

That’s because your breath is signalling to your nervous system that it needs to be hyper focused, aware and ready to protect you from danger.

What happens when something settles you, there’s a bear chasing you, or something went wrong? Your breath speeds up and your body reacts.

That subconsciously is what is being signalled (I’m in danger!) to your mind, body, and nervous system even when there’s nothing startling, no bear, and things are fine.

Now think about how you breathe when you’re getting a massage, having a bath, reading a good book, or doing something else relaxing.

Deeper, steady, full, slower, replenishing.

Your breath lets your mind, body, and nervous system know it can relax and you are safe.

Take a moment to steady your breath, even if you already feel relaxed.

Take a deep breath in, counting to 5.

Hold the breath for a count of 3.

Exhale steadily to a count of 7.

Repeat at least 2 more times.

Congrats, you’ve helped reset your breath and your body will thank you.

You know that feeling of exhaustion, even when you haven’t done anything and you’ve already slept so much?

Maybe it’s not that you haven’t had enough sleep, but it’s actually because your nervous system is operating in overdrive.

There’s a continual feeling of unease or anxiousness.

You overthink everything from big to little things.

You’re running in survival mode trying to juggle all the balls.

You feel guilty when you take a moment to rest.

The ā€œIf I don’t do it, it won’t get done.ā€ list feels endless.

You’re trying to make and keep everyone around you happy and content but feel like you’re drowning.

This is a tired that sleep won’t fix, that won’t just go away.

You don’t need more sleep, you need space to hit pause and reset.

Your nervous system isn’t designed to be running in high gear constantly.

Your car runs out of gas much faster if you are driving at top speed everywhere you go, and your body works the same way.

The good news?

Your nervous system isn’t ā€œbrokenā€. It knows how to return to balance, it just needs the right support and space to do so.

When you give your nervous system time to slow down, release tension, and come back into safety, something powerful happens.

Your mind quiets.

Your body softens.

You can finally exhale.

This is the work I love holding space for.

Through gentle somatic practices, grounding, breathwork, and energy work, we create space for your body to release what it’s been carrying and remember what it feels like to be calm, supported, and regulated again.

You don’t have to keep pushing through exhaustion.

My connection with spirit and the Universe is something I’ve done in ways my whole life, without realizing what it was until I was an adult.
