Today he should be 55.
As I get older and am forced to spend time alone because of his absence, this quote often comes to mind. “Do not complain about growing old. It is a privilege denied to many”
You are incredibly missed ❤️❤️❤️

Dan was often my test subject when I had to do on-site photos. This one stood out as a nice image where he wasn’t “acting up”. He often made faces, stuck out his tongue. There was an occasional bird flipped, and even a mock attempt at a full moon. We just never knew what was going to happen ! This one however, is a very nice shot of the calmer side lol!

This photo was taken 3 weeks after our first date.
We were working at the same site and didn't know if the union allowed fraternization, lol!
It's also one of the first "selfies" I had ever attempted.

We went to Edmonton so we could hold hands in public without worrying about possible repercussions. We did some shopping and found this wonderful little park on a most toasty of days.

One of the best memories from that day was a young clerk commenting that she could tell that we had been together forever because "we acted like a happily married couple that knew each other so well", "still so happy together after the years together". We never said a thing but giggled about it then and many times afterwards.

We never got the "so many years" but what we did get was incredible and intense and amazing. 💕

500...5 minutes was heartbreaking, 5 hours I was in shock, 5 days I wasn’t coping. 500 days without you 💔

Green shirt day. For those people generous enough to donate to others.

Dan never made the list. That was the goal through this dialysis, to be approved for transplant. The heart attack in 2018 pretty much prevented him from ever getting approved. We did not tell anyone that, he wanted people to treat him as though there was hope for transplant.

We have a friend who has been approved to receive a kidney. So many people are praying that he receives this life saving donation. For that to happen, someone must donate or die. An unbelievably hard decision, and the recipient will be forever grateful.

The Broncos tragedy brought this reality to the public eye and continues to bring awareness. We attended the candlelight ceremony in Lloydminster shortly after the tragedy and sat with Dan’s doctor in a safer area. I was attending not as a photographer that night but saw the beauty in this moment and took a quick image. The result was the people in attendance bringing light into the dark of the arena.

This is such a moment in time. After high school, Dan attended broadcast college and became a late night radio personality. He enjoyed searching through the stacks and finding the most obscure and interesting songs. He was always happy when sharing his collection of music.

This picture was taken at the Upgrader where Dan and I met… He was on shift when I walked in there to hand in my employment paperwork and the first thing he ever said to me was “Hi Miss, how can I help you?” It took me less than a minute to realize that this man was going to be part of my world… And not just at work. The charming smile, the big brown eyes and the devilish eyebrows definitely caught my attention 💕😍
