To The Core Pilates and Nutrition is a locally owned studio that turns 17 this year!

Located just west of the downtown core we are massive supporters of our local charities as well as huge advocates for Discover Lloydminster and Think Lloyd First programs. Owned and operated by Donna Schellenberg, we began as a small family oriented facility which has grown with her own family over the years. We treat our clients as a part of our family and believe everyone that steps through our doors deserves the absolute best of what we have to offer. Our purpose has always been to awaken a life of limitless joy in others. Although that may sound strange to some, our clients have overcome massive obstacles that impacted every area of their lives. When you're in pain it's tough to enjoy life. It's difficult to move well, do the activities you love with the people you love the most. Often pain impacts incomes and jobs. Most often it impacts our relationships, our sense of self worth and our confidence. Finding joy in moving again gives people back their freedom and a new outlook for the future. We are proud to help people do just that. At To the Core Pilates & Nutrition it is our mission to encourage lifestyle choices that will improve health over the long term and to improve the quality of life of every client. We offer Therapeutic Pilates and specialize in pre and post natal health as well as post rehab care for hip and knee replacements as well as spinal issues such as scoliosis or disc herniations. To the Core also offers personalized Nutrition Coaching. We work with you to develop smart, effective eating choices to meet your fitness and health goals. Together, we will develop and analyze your habits, dietary needs, and track your progress with the support and resources you need. We believe in creating healthy and sustainable habits that last a lifetime and creating realistic goals and expectations for ourselves. No quick fixes or "no pain, no gain" workouts to be found here. We teach our clients to be proactive about their health, listen to their own bodies and to become advocates for their own health and wellness.

Consistency is the hardest part of any movement practice, especially when you are dealing with chronic back pain or recovering from an injury.

When you commit to a weekly class with a friend or get to know the people you see every week, you aren’t just showing up for yourself. You are showing up for each other.

This type of consistency takes the guesswork out of your schedule. Instead of wondering if you feel like exercising, it simply becomes a part of your weekly life. Plus, moving with others who understand your journey makes the process a lot more enjoyable.

Sometimes community is just as important in our healing, as the movement practice itself.

Tired and sore are NOT the same - and your body knows the difference.

“Good tired” means your muscles worked and your body feels supported.
Pain that lingers, limits movement, or targets your joints is your body asking for a different approach.

At To The Core, we focus on movement that builds strength, improves connection, and helps you feel better in your body... not beat up by it.

Train smart. Move well. Feel strong. 💚

These aren’t new ideas.
In fact, I’ve been talking about them for years.

But this year feels different.
I’m tired of sitting back and quietly allowing diet culture to dictate how women should look and feel.

I’m tired of women being flooded with messaging that tells them they need to be smaller to be worthy, healthy, or accepted.

And I’m exhausted by a culture that prioritizes weight loss and appearance over health and the ripple effect this has not only on women, but on young girls watching it all unfold.

It’s time to stop standing by and letting these myths shape how we see ourselves.

It’s time to put health first and walk away from the messaging that keeps us stuck, disconnected from our bodies, and unable to truly heal.

So, here’s what I want to see less of in 2026:

Being told pain is a part of aging - This comment needs to be put in the trash and never returned. Pain is your bodies way of telling you something. We need to listen. Pain does not need to be a lifelong sentence!

Quick fixes and constant restriction. Life is a marathon and health is a journey. And I don't know about you, but I want more for my life - not less. I need a body, state of mind, and health that lets me have the freedom to live and enjoy.

Fear based menopause messaging. Yes menopause needs more attention and education but we don't have to be scared. We need education that empowers us. Saying you are "fighting" menopause may make you feel like a warrior badass, but what if we worked *with* our body instead of fighting it?

Thoughts? What "health based" messaging are you tired of seeing?

We are getting ready for our Fitness Circle workshop on January 30 at 10:30 AM so you can add some variety to your at home practice.

Does your back feel "done" by 2:00 PM? Or maybe you feel like your core just isn't supporting you the way it used to after having the kids?

Meet your new best friend for core stability.

The Fitness Circle looks simple, but it is a powerhouse for finding those deep muscles without the "no pain, no gain" struggle. It provides the gentle resistance you need to feel strong and stable again. Not only do we use the circle to increase resistance but we show you how to incorporate it into your Pilates workouts to mobilize your spine, free up your hips, and create strength for the inner thighs, abdominals, and upper body.

This tool is a game changer for finding that core muscle connection and challenging your stability. It is fun, it is supportive, and it works.

Join the workshop to learn how to use this tool for better posture and a happier back.
