Conversation Starters we all need to think about no matter what stage of living we are in.
FYI this is a long post and possibly a triggering post:
Here are some conversation starters when thinking about end of life. You can ask yourself or your loved ones these questions:
What does it mean to you to leave a legacy?
Have you thought about doing digital photo albums, recording yourself singing a song or reading a book etc.
Where would you like to be when you die? (Home, hospice, hospital etc)
What things help to make a good death?
How would you like to be remembered?
What song(s) would you like at your funeral?
Describe what a “peaceful” death would be for you.
Do you plan cremation or burial or donation or some other option? If cremation, what are your plans for the ashes?
Do you believe in something after death?
Recognizing dying and death will happen to you, what does it mean to live your life every day?
What would be a perfect phrase on your tombstone?
What do you want to be remembered for?
What do you feel you will be remembered for?
How do you prepare for death and dying?
Who would you want to support you during your Dying moments?
Are there any rites, ceremonies, music, or program that you want/require during your end of life journey and for aftercare?
What does “dignified” death look like to you?
What scares you about death?
What would be your final request(s)be and who would you like/need to assist you?
Have you ever seen a person take their last breath and
how did that impact you?
What does “dying” look like to you?
What is the number one item on your bucket list? Do you have someone to help you check off some or all of your items?
Would you like to have a celebration of life prior to death rather than a "funeral" after death?
