A little love can go a long way.

Today is Giving Tuesday and we’re counting on your support to help us reach our $2,000 goal. This year, all funds will go toward our Hutton House Holiday Party--a long-awaited event that brings warmth, joy, and connection to participants who might otherwise face isolation during the holiday season.

Every year, Hutton House works to ensure equitable participation by offering low-cost tickets, so finances never stand in the way. However, providing this level of affordability for our participants also increases the strain on our programming resources.

With your help, we can cover these costs, protect our ongoing programs, and create an unforgettable experience for more than 130 participants and their caregivers.

Every December, Hutton House’s annual Holiday Party brings participants, caregivers, and staff together to enjoy a good meal, share laughter, and reflect on the meaningful moments (big and small) that have shaped our year.

For many of our participants, this celebration is the one place they know they’ll find a warm meal and a genuine sense of belonging in a season that can deepen feelings of isolation. This Giving Tuesday, your support ensures we can continue uplifting the strengths of this community and offering joyful, festive spaces where people feel connected, recognized, and cared for.

A BIG thank you to the City of London for hosting us in the Community Suite at the London Knights game on Sunday, November 16. Our participants and their families had an amazing time watching the Knights take down the Soo Greyhounds 3-2 in an exciting 5-minute overtime period and shootout.

Elijah, Laura's son got to see his first London Knights game wearing his London Knights toque and had a blast cheering them on (as you can tell from his YMCA dance moves!).

We also want to give a shout out to Home Hardware in the suite next door for treating all of us to ice cream, and to Canada Life Centre staff member Spenser, who took such great care of us with snacks and drinks.

It was an afternoon to remember, and we thank our community for their generosity 🥰

Craig Cardiff is an accomplished folk singer and storyteller who lives in Arnprior, Ontario. With many albums under his belt, decades of touring, Juno nominations; Hutton House was lucky to have Craig participate in a songwriting workshop with our participants.

At the start of COVID, when the world went virtual, Hutton House ran The WellNest. Craig and fellow artists, graciously shared their time and skills, to help budding musicians and storytellers, write, and record their own songs!

Today, staff and participants at Hutton House, together with communities across the country, paused in a moment of silence to honour Remembrance Day.

In this shared stillness, we reflected on the profound legacy of both war and peace, the cost of conflict, and the enduring human hope for a more peaceful world.

With deep respect and gratitude, we honour all those who have served with courage and sacrifice to protect our freedoms and ensure our safety. Hutton House Executive Director Jeanette Dutot has shared photos from her recent trip to the Vimy Memorial. Standing atop the highest point overlooking the Douai plain in northern France this monument stands to commemorate the more than 10,000 Canadians killed and wounded during the First World War.

Light It Up for NDEAM! shines a spotlight on the importance of disability-inclusive hiring. On this day, landmarks across Canada glow blue and purple in support…but since we don’t have the lighting infrastructure to light up the night sky, we decided to wear it instead 😊

We invite you to join us in acknowledging not only the critical need for greater inclusion in our workplaces, but also in celebrating the invaluable contributions, talents, and perspectives that disabled individuals bring to the workplace.

Our remarkable participants continually remind us of the profound value of accessibility. They inspire us to reimagine and co-create spaces that are not only safer and more inclusive but also rooted in dignity and empowerment. 💜💙💜

We’ve got everything Halloween lovers crave this time of year…pumpkin carving, local food, vendors, and some seriously rad local music featuring .songs , and just a punk kid doing folk songs
