Shoulder tendinitis is inflammation of the tendon usually from repetitive motion or overuse. As we age this becomes more problematic as the tendon becomes less flexible and susceptible to injury. Risks of tendonitis include repetitive motion of the shoulder, overhead movements, underlying arthritis, poor posture, underlying joint stiffness, and muscle weakness. Tendonitis can affect any of the tendons of the shoulder. Most often the rotator cuff tendons are affected.
Our physiotherapists at Meridian Spine & Joint, are experts in assessing the shoulder complex. We will determine if you are suffering from tendonitis and which tendons are affected.
