What is an Involuted nail❓ A condition where nails curve excessively, often concave or pinching in appearance, commonly affecting the big toe nail. 👣

Causes:
genetic predisposition
nail trauma or injury
fungal infection or inflammation
tight footwear
age-related changes in nail shape & thickness

Symptoms:
nails grow inward, pressing into surrounding tissue
pain or discomfort, especially under pressure (i.e. tight socks, footwear)
thickened or discolored nails

Treatment: ✅
Conservative Care: proper routine nail trimming and toe padding (Foot Car Nurse)
Nail Correction: reshaping of the nail with the use of a bracing system (Foot Care Nurse)
Surgical Intervention: removal of part of the nail for severe cases (Chiropodist/Podiatrist)

It's important to address involuted nails promptly to prevent pain or complications. Seeking medical advice is recommended for persistent symptoms.
