How to Store & Travel with Your Eyewear
The travelling season is here and many people will be heading to the airport to get to their destinations. If you wear glasses, take a moment to read through these tips to ensure you have a fun and stress-free vacation.

*Use a hard-shell case in backpacks, handbags, or luggage.
*Bring a travel-size cleaning kit with microfiber cloth and spray.
*Keep them in a separate location to reduce the chance of both pairs being damaged or lost.
*Bring a copy of your prescription: This is important in case you need to replace your glasses while you're away.
If you rely on prescription glasses, always pack a second pair in case you lose or damage your primary ones.
By following these tips, you can help to ensure that your eyewear stays safe and sound throughout your travels.
Bon voyage!

It’s never too early to focus on your children’s eye health and vision. Their sense of sight is important at every age and every stage of development.
Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) covers one major eye exam annually for all children and youth aged 19 and under, plus any necessary minor assessments, ensuring they get crucial vision care for proper development.
It’s common for kids to be nervous for their first eye exam. Our optometrists are experienced with children and can put them at ease. If your child does need glasses, we offer a wide selection of colors and styles that will make them smile—in durable materials that will make you smile, too.
Book their appointment today to help set them up for a lifetime of healthy vision.

Here’s a small eyewear habit that makes a big difference in how your glasses look, feel, and last
When putting on or removing your glasses, always use both hands!
It might seem like a small thing, but here’s what actually happens when you don’t:
🔹 Frame balance shifts.
Grabbing your glasses from one side causes uneven pressure, which bends the frame over time. Even a tiny misalignment can change how your lenses sit in front of your eyes and that can subtly affect your vision clarity.
🔹 Hinges loosen faster.
Every time one temple is pulled more than the other, it adds stress to the hinge screws. That’s why one arm sometimes feels looser, even if the glasses are new.
🔹 Fit becomes uneven.
One side will start to sit higher or tighter than the other, leading to discomfort, red marks, or a frame that constantly slides down your nose.
The fix?
Simply use both hands, hold your frames evenly by the temples, and lift or lower them gently. It keeps your glasses properly balanced, reduces wear and tear, and helps maintain that perfect, comfortable fit you got from your last adjustment!
A mindful habit today = better comfort, clearer vision, and longer lasting eyewear tomorrow.
