SoleScience: Orthotics + Footwear

SoleScience: Orthotics + Footwear Offering World Class pedorthic care, custom foot orthotics, education, and a wide footwear selection Why choose SoleScience? Now the real magic happens!

SoleScience has earned a reputation for ethical provision of foot orthoses. Too many providers, many of whom are not even foot specialists, over-provide orthoses and cannot provide follow up when adjustments are needed. We have long standing relationships with world renowned centres, such as the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic at the University of Western Ontario. SoleScience will evaluate your specific biomechanical needs and determine an appropriate course of action. Our highly qualified team of Canadian Certified Pedorthists and lab technicians are ready to help you! As Canadian Certified Pedorthists, our speciality is foot and lower limb mechanics. Our pedorthists first possess a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology or Health Sciences and have completed an extensive Post Graduate Diploma Program in Pedorthics at the University of Western Ontario. Our other qualifications include athletic therapy, bike fit, and a solid research foundation / program by the founder who has a Doctoral in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Western Ontario. The SoleScience Assessment Process:

Clinical Assessment:

Our one-on-one detailed assessment focuses on YOUR biomechanics. We assess your individual biomechanics to determine if orthotic therapy is appropriate through:

Static weight-bearing evaluation
Gait analysis
Non weight-bearing range-of-motion
Special muscle and function testing
We believe in empowering our patients through educating them about their injury or condition so that they are better able to help themselves heal and reduce the risk of future injury. If it is determined that you are in need of custom orthoses, a three-dimensional volumetric casting of your feet will be done. The SoleScience in-house fabrication team takes over and your devices are made with close attention to detail and direction from your Pedorthist. SoleScience lives up to our reputation as a leader and has the SHORTEST turn around time in London Ontario for you to pick-up your devices. Turn around time is 3-5 DAYS, not weeks! All adjustments can be made on site and, of course, are free. Follow-up is provided to every patient for free as we feel it is imperative to make sure you have reached your treatment goals. Make a confident choice in SoleScience, and we'll do everything in our power to make you a raving fan!

“Dan — quick tip for plantar fasciitis?” 👣

In this reel, Colin Dombroski puts Dan on the spot (again) — and his answer might surprise you:
Stop Googling.

The internet is full of conflicting advice, one-size-fits-all stretches, and quick fixes that don’t account for your foot, your activity level, or your goals. Plantar fasciitis isn’t the same for everyone and neither is the solution.

A proper assessment looks at footwear, load, tissue capacity, and your daily demands, so you can follow a plan that actually makes sense for you.

If heel pain has you searching for answers, let’s simplify it.

Come see the team at SoleScience and get guidance you can feel confident in.

When it comes to heel pain, this one is a favourite. 👟

In this reel, Brian shares why the Glycerin from Brooks Running is often one of his go-to options.

With its soft, responsive cushioning and smooth ride, the Glycerin is designed to help reduce underfoot stress while keeping you comfortable through long days on your feet. For many people managing plantar fasciitis, that combination of cushioning and consistent support can make a meaningful difference.

Even better — the Glycerin 22 is on sale in-store now.

If heel pain has been slowing you down, come in and see if it’s the right fit for you. Comfort starts from the ground up.

“Jeff — quick tip for plantar fasciitis?” 👣

Continuing this series of tips, Colin Dombroski asks Jeff how to keep moving when heel pain shows up. His advice?

Let pain be your guide — not your stop sign. Don’t persevere through it, but also don’t stop altogether.

You don’t necessarily have to stop the activities you enjoy. Instead, try breaking them into smaller chunks, adjusting intensity, and paying attention to how your foot responds during and after.

Healing plantar fasciitis is often about smart load management — not complete rest.
Keep moving. Listen closely. Adjust when needed.

And if you’d like help building a plan that fits your life, we’re here for you.

“Mary — quick tip for stubborn plantar fasciitis?” 👣

Colin Dombroski asks Mary what might help when stretching (and even reading The Plantar Fasciitis Plan) hasn’t fully settled things.

Her answer?

A dorsiflexion night splint might be the missing piece.
Night splints gently hold your ankle in a flexed position while you sleep. For some people, that means less of that sharp “first-step” pain in the morning and more comfortable starts to the day.

As always, the right approach depends on the individual — but small adjustments can make a meaningful difference.

“Dan — quick tip for plantar fasciitis?” 👣

In this reel, Colin Dombroski puts out pedorthist Dan on the spot — and his answer is simple:

Don’t skip your morning stretches.

That first-step heel pain?

A few gentle calf stretches and plantar fascia stretches before you take those first steps can help reduce strain and make your morning a whole lot more comfortable.
Small habit. Big difference.

Start with the plan.

In this reel, Colin shares why he wrote The Plantar Fasciitis Plan — to give people clear, practical, evidence-based steps they can follow to calm heel pain and build back stronger.

Because plantar fasciitis isn’t just about stretching more or buying a random insert. It’s about understanding load, footwear, tissue capacity, and progression — and having a roadmap that makes sense.

If heel pain has been lingering, this is a great place to begin.

Available to purchase in-store and on Amazon — and designed to help you do more, with less pain.

Every practitioner has a reason they chose this profession. 👣

Colin Dombroski shares what led him to pedorthics — and why helping people move better became his life’s work.

With a passion for evidence-based care and a belief that comfort is the foundation of healing, Colin’s goal is simple:

Help people do more — with less pain.

At SoleScience, that means listening carefully, assessing thoroughly, and creating solutions that support your life — whether that’s work, sport, or everyday movement.

If you’re ready to move more comfortably, we’d love to welcome you in.

Not all supportive shoes fit the same.👟

Brian highlights why fit matters just as much as features. He walks through 3 different models from that can all be helpful for plantar fasciitis — but the right choice depends on your foot shape, your gait, and how the shoe feels on you.

Because when it comes to heel pain, it’s not about the “best” shoe. It’s about the best fit.

If you’re unsure where to start, our team is always happy to help you find the right match — so you can move comfortably and confidently.

Heel pain hanging on a little too long? Your shoes might be part of the problem. 👟

Jeff Walker shares why worn or unsupportive footwear can keep plantar fasciitis from settling—and the signs it may be time for a replacement.

If your feet could use a little extra support, stop by SoleScience to explore options and get guidance from our team.

Comfort starts from the ground up.

From kinesiology ➝ pedorthics, it just made sense. 👣
A love of movement, footwear, and helping people stay active led me right here.
The best part of what I do? Keeping people comfortable, confident, and supported on their feet—so they can keep doing what they love.
