Today, on Remembrance Day, we paused to honour all who have served and continue to serve—remembering their courage, valour, and heroism.

We were grateful to come together as a community for a heartfelt Remembrance Day service. Thank you to Pastor Paul for leading such a meaningful tribute to our veterans and fallen heroes.

Behind the Name: A Riverstone Resident’s Blue Jays Connection! ⚾

A simple compliment on a Blue Jays jersey led to an incredible piece of baseball history! When our Business Service Manager, Sandra, wore her Blue Jays jersey, resident Barb couldn’t resist sharing a fun fact — she helped name the Toronto Blue Jays!

Back in 1976, the City of Toronto held a contest to name its new baseball team. Out of 156 people who submitted the name Blue Jays, 10 lucky winners, including Barb and her husband, received 1977 season tickets and a personal letter from Howard Starkman, the team’s first PR Director. Their seats? Just 10 rows behind the dugout, complete with elevator access!

Here’s Barb with Sandra, both proud Blue Jays fans, celebrating a love for the game that started decades ago.
