HEY, DVMs! The East Village Animal Hospital has a rare opportunity for you to join us (due to multiple maternity leaves in our exceptional veterinary crew!) The reality of the need to continue to increase access to veterinary care for low income families means we are open for expressions of interest from veterinarians licensed to practice in Ontario. We are privately owned. We choose to operate as non profit. We welcome clinicians and surgeons, smiles and laughter, skills and creativity. One day a week? A few days a week? Shifts in our Southwestern Ontario (London, Hamilton, Kitchener) clinics, with options to sign on to our Mobile (on site in multiple Indigenous Communities and shelter/community outreach in Northern Ontario) team throughout the year.

Monday January 5, 2026 our EVAH dream teams are back to standard business hours as listed on www.evah.ca . As privately owned veterinary clinics we continue to choose to provide non profit care to our many tens of thousands of patients who are relying on us! You’ll meet some new team members this year as we wish MUCH love and luck to some of our staff who have headed off to school this month, and as well two of our veterinarians who are on maternity leave. Your patience as the newer crew learn their tasks and roles is of course very important and we appreciate it.

INCLEMENT WEATHER alert : EVAH London is closing at 4:00pm Monday Dec 29,25. EVAH-Hamilton remains available for telemed only for currently scheduled appointments until 5:00pm, and EVAH-Kitchener surgeries will all be discharged asap to do so safely while continuing medical appointments until 5:00pm.

Reminder our London and Kitchener EVAHs are open until 3pm only today, Hamilton is closed. Get your prescription diets, pick up PRE-ordered meds (medications ordered today will take days longer to source and prepare), and remember EVAH-LONDON has a wonderful assortment of last minute gifts for sale just inside the front door for that purrfect host/ess gift.

Everyone who works in a veterinary hospital can tell you they never know what lovely treats will arrive each day during the festive season…but always look forward to it! The Pet Save Dogs Available for Adoption volunteers who assist EVAH in Greater Sudbury each month organized the most delectable cookie exchange, full of home baked and beautiful artisan cookies our team was gifted last week. Other volume clients who do absolutely gobsmacking life saving work in their Southwestern Ontario communities made time to deliver gorgeous treats to our London, Hamilton and Kitchener clinics too such as Pet Patrol, Canfix.org and Purrfect Companions. And many others too - we just want to say THANK YOU!!! We adore you!

Our EVAH-North crew is working in Greater Sudbury region this week, and our Executive Director’s Mom & Aunt made them all SMITTENS. The owner of the rental house they’re staying in this week put up a tree for them so it’s a warm atmosphere for some of the warmest hearts we’ve ever known 🥰🎄. If you’re looking for holiday gifts this year, pop in to EVAH London (1777 Dundas St) and purchase a pair of hand crafted SMITTENS, created from upcycled winter sweaters. Only $15!

All locations are short staffed to start the week due to flu season - your patience is required and appreciated.
Our EVAH team wants to do their best to avoid closing our clinic(s) due to staff being sick, and enjoy our few days off later this month to visit family & friends. We wish the same for you! Therefore we will ensure if any of us begin feeling unwell at work, we will immediately mask. Should you be attending an appointment at our clinic and have any inkling you're feeling under the weather, we ask you do the same. You can call ahead to any of our clinics and ask for a mask if you don't have one handy. Thanks very much, everyone!
