Professional Development Foot Care Conference. This year we are having three different workshops, one price. The workshops are being held Friday April 24th., the day before the conference. Limited seating available for the workshops.

Workshop # 3 is being led by Eileen Stacey owner of Ultimate Foot Care.

In this workshop you will develop the essential clinical skills needed to perform confident, efficient, and comprehensive foot assessments. This workshop will guide foot care nurses through the process of conducting detailed lower limb and foot evaluations that support accurate findings, treatment planning, and patient education.

By the end of this workshop, you will have the confidence and competence to deliver safe, high quality, and patient-centered foot care grounded in professional standards

Josee Hunter is a nurse, educator, and business owner dedicated to elevating the profession of Foot and Lower Limb Care Nursing through practical education and mentorship. With more than a decade of clinical and business experience, her focus is helping nurses bridge the gap between theory and real-world application — empowering them to build sustainable, patient-centered practices with confidence.

Josee will be showing you specialty tools and how to use them on your clients. For this workshop you will need to bring your rotary tool, and a set of instruments that you use for routine treatment.

She is a chiropodist and diabetes educator by training and completed her Master’s in Educational Leadership. Professional Development Foot Care Conference Speaker Misty Fortier RN, MN. She is the Director of the Credentialing Centre with the CNA.

The CAFCN ( Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses ) is working with Misty to develope the process for certification in Canada for foot care nurses. The CNA is doing the certification.

This will be some great information on what is coming down the road that will benefit foot care nurses.

Professional Development Foot Care Conference speaker Dr. Henry Chapeskie

Paradigm Paralysis: "It's overgrown Toeskin not Ingrown Nail"

The literature is overloaded with information that describes this problem as being related to the nail growing into the soft tissue of the toe. The actual evidence does not support this theory. Rather, the problem is due to pressure necrosis of the nail fold skin due to weight-bearing in people with excessive amount of tissue at the sides of the nail.

This presentation will explain this issue clearly and demonstrate that removal of the granulating infected nail fold skin results in a cosmetically excellent cure for this problem.
