Are you a woman who has experienced intimate partner violence?
The MLPHU has a new program called iHEAL to help.

How Does iHEAL Work?

A Registered Nurse meets with you weekly or every other week for about 6 months.
Meetings are in a safe place where you feel comfortable.
You choose what to focus on- improving your health, safety, relationships, connections, personal growth, or access to basic resources.
Your iHEAL nurse will help you with what is most important to you.
If you like, the nurse will help you access other resources too.
There is no cost to you.

Please share with anyone you feel could benefit from this program.

Are you a woman who has separated from an abusive partner or is taking steps to separate? A program called iHEAL provides personal support to help women manage some of the common challenges they face on a pathway toward a happier, healthier, safer lives.

Safe From the Start – mRNA COVID Vaccines Carry No Added Risk in Early Pregnancy

A cohort study looked at whether mothers who received mRNA COVID-19 vaccines early in pregnancy faced an increased risk of major congenital malformations. Among 500,000 live births, getting the jab in the first trimester wasn’t linked to a higher risk of teratogenic effects — overall, by organ group, or by specific malformation. The takeaway: mRNA vaccines are safe in early pregnancy, a period when infection risk is higher and reassurance matters most.

Get your COVID vaccinations at any time in pregnancy to protect yourself and your baby.

You’ve may have heard about Trump’s recent claims that Tylenol causes autism.

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC), the American college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ACOG), and the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine have all released statements saying that:
There is no reliable evidence to support the claim that acetaminophen use in pregnancy causes autism. Furthermore, women should be offered acetaminophen to treat pain and fever at the lowest dose and the shortest duration required to treat their condition.

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada said there is no causal evidence linking prenatal exposure to acetaminophen and neurodevelopmental disorders like autism.
