My Sisters’ Place:

We had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Tuscan Lodge 195 last evening. They came with great questions and generous hearts.

After a tour and great discussion they presented us with an incredible gift of $10,000!
We are so grateful to be thought of and supported in this way.

We fundraise for more than 90% of our annual operating budget. Support like this helps to ensure the doors are open and lights are on when women in our community need us.

This wonderful group of people brought sunshine with them on a cold and rainy day. ❤️

My Sisters’ Place:

Our friends Alexa, Ava and Hilary from SIMA at Western came by yesterday with a generous donation for our emergency clothing cupboard.

Their timing was great as everyone had just come inside from the pouring rain outside. One woman approached this writer expressing how grateful she was as she was heading in to take a hot shower and was looking forward to clean, dry clothing.

Thank you to SIMA for all the ways you’ve supported us over the past several months. You have touched the lives of many women in our community.

London Coffee House:

WOWZA! We were treated to the most delicious lunch today! Our friend Christine dropped by with these fabulous cheese and bacon stuffed burgers from The Corner Deli at Western Fair Farmers Market. What’s that on the side you ask? Candied jalapeño peppers —and they did not disappoint!

Thank you Tim and Eugene (The Corner Deli) and Christine for the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ lunch!

Micro Enterprise:

It’s looking an awful lot like Spring in the Coach House! These darling bouquets come with a magnetic back making them a clever way to add a pop of colour to your space. These flowers don’t wilt!

Also shown —artisan Becky has been crocheting up a storm! The cutest little possum, some stunning hats and cascading sunflowers.

All of these items and so much more in the Coach House! Drop by Tuesday-Thursday 10-3. *Please note we will be closed on Thursday of this week.

Saturday April 18th the Coach House will be open for our Spring Sale—add us to your calendar you don’t want to miss it!

To everyone who guessed cheese curds (squeaky cheese might be our favourite answer!) and poutine you were absolutely correct!

Diana tells us this Canadian delicacy was highly requested by the women and we’re here to tell you it did not disappoint! *Not shown—the side of chicken pieces—because this really was the star of the show!

Thanks for playing along with us.

On another note —Diana has asked that we put a call out for soup cups, Mac n Cheese cups etc. These items have been a huge hit with our overnight resting spaces. Anyone coming in hungry at night can enjoy a little something before closing their eyes to rest.

Donations are welcome at our side door (566 Dundas Street? Weekdays from 10-4 & 4:30-7. Weekends from 10:30-1:30.

My Sisters’ Place:

We are very grateful for your support in keeping our shelves stocked with basic needs.

Our volunteers who sort and manage donations have let us know we are quite low in hair conditioner, liquid body wash and hand lotion. We are also in need of (stretchy) bottoms —that would include athletic style pants like joggers, yoga pants or leggings and gloves are still needed too.

Basic needs items (toiletries) are always welcome and appreciated.

Donation drop off times: weekdays from 10-4 & 4:30-7:00 at 566 Dundas Street, side door across from the gazebo. For more information or to arrange a drop off 519-679-9570 x 5000

We are grateful for weekly bag lunch deliveries. Our friends at Dundas Street Centre United Church.

We of course look forward to special lunches but we also look forward to the delivery — a weekly reminder that we are thought of. ❤️
