We are *so* excited to be hosting a Spinning Babies® Workshop with Lisa Cryderman right here in our community.

This workshop invites a powerful shift in perspective by asking one simple, game changing question: Where’s baby? From there, everything opens. New ways to understand labour progress. New tools to support physiology. Less force. More ease. More room.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
• Support comfort in pregnancy and ease in childbirth
• Improve fetal positioning without manipulating the baby
• Identify challenges sooner and respond gently
• Work with the body’s innate ability to create space and resolve dystocia

Whether you’re a doula, midwife, nurse, educator, or birth worker of any kind, this training offers a practical, embodied lens that can truly change how you show up in birth spaces.

💬 What’s one labour pattern or challenge you’re most curious to understand differently this year? Drop it in the comments.

🎟 Save this post, share it with your birth work bestie, and join us for a day of learning that just might change everything.

Doulas, can we talk about the obsession with being busy?

Packed calendars. Overflowing inquiries. Saying yes even when your body whispers no. It's becoming the norm, and it's burning doulas our faster than ever.

Here's the truth that isn't said enough:
🔥 A burnt-out doula cannot offer grounded, ethical care.
🔥 Saying no is an act of love; for you and your clients.
🔥 Rest is a radical refusal to treat yourself as infinite.
🔥 Community matters. Referrals matter. Boundaries matter.

Seasoned doulas: welcome the newer ones.
New doulas: know that you belong in this work.
All doulas: you are not meant to do this alone.

Before you take on one more inquiry, ask yourself: "If this were my client, what would I advise them to do?"

Honour that answer. Honour yourself.

Busy isn't better. Being well is.

Collaborative care is truly what it's all about. Our hearts are so happy hearing reviews like this one. It is our absolute honour to hold space and support you, no matter what journey you are on. Thank you 🤍

"When I first began researching doulas, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of options. However, as I narrowed down what I wanted for my birth plan, the Doula Collective stood out. After an initial meeting at the Modern Mom show, I took some time to reflect before booking a consultation.
Meeting Amy, Christina, and Delanie via Zoom solidified my choice. Their collaborative philosophy was immediately apparent; they listened to my concerns and began brainstorming ideas together in real-time. As an educator, I deeply value peer collaboration, and I knew I wanted a doula relationship where I could work alongside experts. I chose this team because I knew they would provide the knowledge I need while ensuring that I am the one 'steering the ship' based on my own needs.
I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to work with all three in my birthing journey, and could not have asked for a better experience going into motherhood."

The holidays can be beautiful, and they can also be overwhelming.

Expectations rise. Emotional bandwidth shrinks. Old wounds resurface. New boundaries become necessary.

Whether you’re navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, grief, or loss, you’re allowed to protect your peace this season.

✨ You’re allowed to say no.
✨ You’re allowed to choose rest.
✨ You’re allowed to skip traditions that hurt.
✨ You’re allowed to keep your plans private.
✨ You’re allowed to set limits that make you feel safe and supported.

Your boundaries are not a burden. They are an act of care; for you, your baby, your healing, and your heart.

If this season feels tender, heavy, or complicated, the Collaborative Doula Collective is here to support you with grounding guidance, emotional care, and space to breathe.

You don’t have to navigate the holidays alone.

In January, our Collective Book Club is reading Death Nesting, a deeply compassionate and insightful book on end-of-life care written by death-doula education Anne-Marie Keppel. This tender guide offers practices for emotionally and spiritually supporting the dying, breathing and presence-based tools to ease anxiety and pain, and gentle ceremony idea's to honour life's final passage.

Anne-Marie Keppel is a seasoned death doula, Reiki master, meditation teacher, and founder of the nonprofit Village Deathcare. Her work blends practical care, holistic spirituality, and heartfelt presence - offering families and caregivers ways to "nest" compassionately around those nearing life's end.

Remember, our book club is for everyone! To join in on January's meeting, send us a DM or email us at hello@thecollaborativedoulacollective.ca!

✨Boundaries are not barriers — they’re the foundation of sustainable doula care.✨

As doulas, we hold space for others through their most transformative moments… but how often do we hold space for ourselves?

Boundaries aren’t about building walls — they’re about creating balance, protecting your energy, and ensuring your care remains heart-led and sustainable.

✨ New on the Blog: Why Every Doula Needs Boundaries (and How to Set Them with Heart) — a powerful read on redefining boundaries as an act of love and sustainability.

🎧 On the Podcast: Doula Boundaries 101 — real conversations on how to protect your energy while showing up fully for families. Live Thursday November 6th

💗 Want to dive deeper? Amy teaches Boundaries for Doulas, a workshop to help doulas thrive and build a balanced practice that lasts - this workshop is also included in your membership to The Collaborative Doula Collective. (Interested in joining, reach out!)

✨Doulas of Ontario — This Is Your Invitation.✨

The Collaborative Doula Collective is growing, and we’re calling in heart-led doulas from across Ontario who are ready to be part of something bigger.

Whether your calling is fertility, birth, postpartum, loss, or end-of-life support, there’s a space for you here. Together, we’re redefining what it means to be a doula — creating a culture rooted in collaboration, compassion, and community care.

✨We’re especially looking to connect with doulas in:
📍 Windsor – families are currently seeking support
📍 Ottawa
📍 Cambridge / Kitchener-Waterloo
📍 Barrie / Muskoka Region

The Collaborative Doula Collective is more than a network — it’s a movement. We’re changing the way doulas support families and each other by building a community where everyone thrives. No competition, no isolation — just shared growth, learning, and belonging.

As a member, you’ll receive:
✨Client referrals
✨Access to continuing education, mentorship, and collaborative learning opportunities
✨Business and branding support to help you grow your practice
✨Marketing and social media features to highlight your work and reach new families
✨Invitations to collective dinners, admin days, workshops, retreats, and special events
✨A brave space to learn, share, and feel supported — personally and professionally

We believe in doing this work differently. In slowing down, listening deeply, and creating a ripple effect of care that extends beyond one birth, one family, one moment.

If you’re ready to be part of a Collective that believes in community over competition and in the heart-led power of doula care — we’d love to welcome you.

Let’s reimagine what’s possible, together.

You were here. You mattered. You are forever loved.

10/15/2025

Tonight, candles flicker in windows, on mantels, across oceans — one by one, we light the world in memory.

Each flame carries a name.
Each glow, a story.
Each light, a love that never left.

This is the Wave of Light — a moment where grief meets love, and silence is filled with remembrance.

You are not alone tonight.
We see you.
We feel it too.
