Last week I had the opportunity to spend time in Winnipeg working alongside Dr. Avi Islur, past president of the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, at his clinic The First Glance ✨🩺 It is always inspiring to connect with colleagues and share knowledge, especially after many years in independent practice. Experiences like this help us continue to refine our surgical techniques and bring new ideas back to our patients. 🌍📚

During this visit, I learned a modification the under muscle technique that reduces animation deformity and implant displacement.💡 We also focused on complex revision breast surgery cases including capsular contracture, implant displacement, and significant ptosis, using cadaveric donor dermis to provide additional soft tissue support and improved long term stability. 🔬

This material has more than 30 years of clinical data supporting its safety and effectiveness and provides an excellent option in challenging reconstructive and revision cases.

I am excited to announce that microneedling is now available in office! ✨

6 months after her mastopexy-augmentation. ✨

A mastopexy-augmentation is a combination of a breast lift and breast augmentation. The lift reshapes and repositions the breast tissue and ni**le to a more youthful position, while the augmentation adds volume and fullness using implants.

This patient had a subfascial mastopexy-augmentation with 270 cc moderate profile implants, creating a soft, natural looking result that complements her frame. At this stage, the breasts have settled beautifully, and the scars continue to improve and fade over time. 💖

Is liposuction permanent? 🤔✨

Yes! Liposuction permanently removes fat cells from the treated areas. During the procedure, we carefully sculpt and contour the body by targeting stubborn fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise, helping create smoother lines and better overall proportions.

Can you still gain weight after liposuction? Yes. The fat cells that remain in your body can still expand if you gain weight. However, because there are fewer fat cells in the treated areas, those areas typically gain less volume compared to untreated areas. This is why maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle is important to preserve your results long term. 💖✨

Before and after subfascial breast augmentation with 275cc high-profile implants. High-profile implants have a narrower base with more projection, meaning they add forward fullness without adding excessive width. This makes them a great option for patients with a smaller frame who want enhanced projection and cleavage while maintaining a balanced, natural look.

Placed in the subfascial plane, the implants sit above the muscle but beneath the fascia, allowing for a softer appearance, quicker recovery, and preservation of normal muscle movement. At 6 months post-op, the implants have settled beautifully, creating a refined and proportional result. 💖✨

Patient shown 6 months after abdominoplasty with liposuction ✨

Her scar is still in the early healing phase, but over time it will continue to fade and soften. During an abdominoplasty, the scar is placed low on the abdomen so it can be easily hidden under underwear or a bikini. With proper care, most scars mature into a fine pale line within a year.

Liposuction plays an important role in enhancing the final result. While the abdominoplasty removes excess skin and tightens the abdominal muscles, liposuction allows us to contour the waist, flanks, and upper abdomen, creating smoother transitions and a more defined shape. The combination of both procedures gives a more sculpted and natural-looking result than either procedure alone. 💖

About Dr. Hana Farhang

Dr Hana Farhang Khoee is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada with extensive experience in both Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Farhang has worked in hospitals and private clinics throughout Ontario and the United States. She completed her residency in Plastic Surgery at McMaster University, followed by a fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the world-renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. There she was mentored by the world leaders in Plastic Surgery to manage complex cases related to breast, head and neck, extremity, and perineal cancer reconstruction.

Upon her return to Canada, she began working as a Trauma Surgeon at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, dealing with complicated traumatic injuries related to the craniofacial skeleton, as well as upper and lower extremity limb trauma. She also worked at the McLean Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, where she furthered her aesthetic surgical experience and conducted female-to-male (FTM) chest masculinisation surgeries for transgender patients.

In the summer of 2017, Dr Farhang was recruited to Windsor, Ontario to develop a Breast Reconstruction Program – a service the city had been without for over 10 years. She brings with her a wealth of experience in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and has since performed the city’s first immediate implant-based breast reconstruction in over a decade and its first chest masculinisation surgery for a female to male transgender patient.

Dr Farhang is intensely committed to improving patient outcomes and quality of life following surgery. As a part of this, her practice employs “Breast-Q,” a personalized questionnaire specifically developed for breast reconstruction patients to better evaluate their needs and improve long-term outcomes.
