The Middlesex-London Health Unit has confirmed that Victoria Hospital’s cooling towers have tested positive for Legionella bacteria.

More testing is now underway to find out if it matches the strain causing the community outbreak. Those results will take approximately three weeks. We want to be clear: this does not mean Victoria Hospital is the source of the community outbreak and the risk to patients, staff, and visitors remains very low.

A chemical clean of the cooling towers has been initiated and a systematic terminal clean will follow.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Question: How do I find a family doctor?

London, like many cities and towns in Ontario does have not enough family doctors. Very few are taking new patients. From time to time the London and District Academy of Medicine becomes aware of new doctors in the London area and can help patients by providing their names and contact information. If there are no doctors on our list then a number of strategies can be tried to locate a family doctor.
