Try this the next time your energy feels heavy - Everyday Strategies (Week 7)

Every week, I will provide you with one strategy that you can implement at home or in the comfort of your own space. These techniques will be therapeutic, holistic, or relaxational. We can use these strategies for 5 minutes a day, at any time, whether in the morning, midday, or at night, whenever you need them. You can be in the middle of a lot going on, and just take 5 minutes for yourself.

Today's technique is protecting or clearing your energy. We need to be mindful of the energy we put out there, but we can also absorb a lot of energy everyday, be it our own, others, in our environment, like electromagnetic waves etc. These strategies just helps us go about our day feeling more refreshed, and clear of energy we don't need.

Everyday Strategies: Opening up the shoulders, posture, and the neck ( Week 6)

Every week, I will provide you with one strategy that you can implement at home or in the comfort of your own space. These techniques will be therapeutic, holistic, or relaxational. We can use these strategies for 5 minutes a day, at any time, whether in the morning, midday, or at night, whenever you need them. You can be in the middle of a lot going on, and just take 5 minutes for yourself.

Today's technique is a restorative yoga pose called supported bound angle pose. It’s good for anyone working on recovering from an injury, after a workout, are feeling burntout, or if you just need to rest and relax. Hold this just at least 2 to 5 minutes, using whatever breathing techniques, and calming music you like. Do this regularly and at your own risk, pace and listening to your body.

Everyday Strategies: releasing tension in the jaw (Week 5)

Every week, I will provide you with one strategy that you can implement at home or in the comfort of your own space. These techniques will be therapeutic, holistic, or relaxational. We can use these strategies for 5 minutes a day, at any time, whether in the morning, midday, or at night, whenever you need them. You can be in the middle of a lot going on, and just take 5 minutes for yourself.

Today's technique is a Craniosacral Therapy release that anyone can do to release tension or stress from their jaw. It can be helpful if you're stressed, have dental work, or tmj issues. Great to release the tension we all hold in the jaw, which will open up your mouth, helping to have less stress or tension there.

Today's technique is called Emotional Freedom Technique(EFT) or tapping. Nick Ortner wrote a great book on this called The Tapping Solution. So check this out for more information. Use this technique whenever you're stressed, anxious, or something is triggering you, or it can be when you're feeling pain, or have had a recent diagnosis. This can be used for a variety of things impacting you, to help to reduce the trigger over time, or calm or regulate your nervous system when something is happening.

How to do Box Breathing
Step 1: Breathe in, counting to four slowly. Feel the air enter your lungs.
Step 2: Hold your breath for 4 seconds. Try to avoid inhaling or exhaling for 4 seconds.
Step 3: Slowly exhale through your mouth for 4 seconds.
Step 4: Rest and center yourself for four seconds

This is called the self-balancing technique. You can do this anytime you feel out of balance, stressed, anxious, etc. Put on some relaxing music and focus on connecting with your breath, using whatever breathing technique you like. See how this can make a difference in your day.

This is a Restorative Yoga pose I am demonstrating called elevated legs up the wall.
Caution for those with:
Hernia
eye pressure or retinal problems
neck problems
Not recommended for those over 3 months pregnant. Take a side
lying equivalent as an alternative -

I did forget to mention in the video that this is not for everyone. Listen to your body. People concussed like myself, or anyone for that matter, take this at your own pace, slowly getting into and out of this pose. Modify for you, and do this at your own risk.
