Heather is a passionate RMT who strongly values holistic health, reducing pain and improving overall wellbeing. Heather applies a variety of techniques including fascial, trigger point therapy and joint mobilizations and is in good standing with the CMTO as a recent grad of the Fanshawe Massage Therapy program. Heather also has a background as a classical cellist, and has earned her Bachelors of Music from Western University. This experience lends itself to her treatment of chronic overuse injuries, specifically for musicians. Heather strongly values client centered care and client input in order to create a safe, professional environment in which the client feels comfortable and secure. She aims to improve range of motion, reduce pain and promote relaxation and wellbeing.

Diagnosis: Subtalar overpronation worse on the left with associated left tibialis anterior and posterior strain aka “shin splints” along with patellar tracking abnormality.

In this case presenting in a 7 year old as leg pain after running, sports or increased activity. 🏃‍♀️

May also present in adults or children as lateral knee pain due to distal IT-Band inflammation.

Lateral hip pain due to strain on the lateral stabilizers of the hip from internal rotation of the tibia and femur, lower back pain from consequent poor mechanics at the SI joint and lumbar spine.

Arch pain from strain/tendonopathy in distal tendon attachments of the tibialis anterior and tibialis posterior or strain the to plantar fascia.

Treatment➡️ can include soft tissue treatment and strengthening to the associated musculature, Shockwave Therapy to the tendonopaties or plantar fascia, custom prescription semi rigid EVA orthotics to help support the arch specifically designed to allow continued movement in the foot.
