Share if you needed to hear this! ♥️ When you’re sleep deprived, it’s easy to want change to happen immediately! But it’s important to set realistic goals and expectations of your babe, and yourself. ⠀
Sleep is a lot like any other developmental milestone. Much like sitting, standing and walking, it can take time and effort to master!

I urge parents to recognize progress, because it’s so important to celebrate the small wins! And while some babies will pick up a new skill quickly, others may take more time, growth and consistency to figure it out completely. Try not to compare to others or get down on yourself ❤️ Change takes time and consistency, and tomorrow is a new day!⠀

So be kind and be patient! And never stop celebrating progress 🥳❤️ ⠀

Hear me out! Many parents use a child-based sleep schedule, which means they are relying on their baby’s sleep cues to guide them 100%. This CAN work, but there’s a couple things…
Not every baby shows sleep cues.
Some babies yawn constantly.
Often we misread signals and put them down too early.
This approach rarely creates consistency, which is hard on the whole family!

What do I recommend instead?
It’s called a PARENT-led schedule!!

A parent-led schedule means that we are using WAKE WINDOWS are our primary guide, so we know they are getting the sleep pressure they need. We use their sleep cues as our secondary guide, because there will be days that they don’t quite make their wake window (perhaps they are teething, sick, or just had vaccinations!).

I know sleep seems like a very natural thing, but it can be overwhelming confusing when you have a baby! There is a lot involved, but it will get easier when you take control of their sleep! Focus on the basics, and be sure to follow what is appropriate for their age.

2026 Q1 running stats! 🏃‍♀️

I set a goal to run 1000km in 2026, which sounds very daunting! But we are just 3 months in and I’ve surpassed 350km!! I am proud of how far I’ve come (literally) and am excited to see what more I can achieve this year! 💪🏼🥰

Wha bedtime works best for your baby?!

After 4 months, I recommend that bedtime lands between 6:30-8:00pm. That tends to be the sweet spot for little ones. It’s not too early where they may have false starts, or too late where they have a cortisol release. I suggest picking one time and starting as consistent as you can with that chosen bedtime! ⏰

How do you decide?! I like to consider how your family dynamic works!! What time does everyone come home from work? Do you need to have your baby up at a certain time in the morning? When do you typically eat dinner and does your baby eat dinner with you?

Our goal is to fin the time that works well for your baby’s natural sleep cycle. If you are consistent with bedtime, then it will help solidify their circulation rhythm so bedtime goes smooth as butter! 🧈 (not like the butter I tried to make while running in my last post lol 😂)
