March is wrapping up — and what a month it's been. 🌷

St. Patrick's Day. The first day of spring. Four live music performances. Visits from the Lumsden Quilters and Bridges Program students. A Family Resident Council meeting.

All of it built on the same foundation: a community that shows up for its seniors.

That's what rural excellence looks like. Not flashy. Not complicated. Just consistent, genuine care - delivered by people who know the people they're caring for.

Life here is full and April is just around the corner.

📢 Call for Nominations - Lumsden & District Heritage Home Board of Directors

We are looking for dedicated community members to join the LDHH Board! We have 6 seats available across two term lengths:

4 Seats: 3-year term
2 Seats: 2-year term

To be eligible, candidates must be an active LDHH member in good standing, at least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen, and have resided in Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months prior to submitting their nomination.

Nominations are open until May 31, 2026.

Closing out the week with live music. 🎶

March has been a month of music — Rodney Pettigrew, the Doe Rae Me Fossils, Music with Mel, and now Smith & Dunn.

Every one of these performers chooses to come here. They give their time, their talent, and their energy to a room full of people who genuinely appreciate it.

That's the thing about rural communities: people show up. Not because they have to. Because they want to.

Thank you to every performer who walks through our doors. You make this place brighter.

Today we’re hosting a Family Resident Council Meeting — a chance for families to connect, ask questions, and stay involved in the life of the Home.

Open communication and collaboration are at the heart of how we work. Because caring for seniors means caring for families too.

Music isn't an extra at Heritage Home. It's woven into every week. 🎵

Live performances. Sing-alongs. Music with Mel. Polka parties.

Why? Because research shows music supports memory, reduces anxiety, and improves quality of life for seniors. But honestly, you don't need research to know that. You just need to see someone's face light up when a familiar song starts playing.

This is what holistic care looks like. Not just treating the body but caring for the whole person.

That's the Heritage Home difference.

The Lumsden Quilters are part of our regular programming, bringing creativity, connection, and beautiful handmade work into the Home. It’s one of many ways our community shows up for seniors.

Reminder: Our 2026 Annual Quilt Raffle is still on! Tickets are 3 for $5 at the Business Office.
Draw date: May 10.
Proceeds support capital equipment and infrastructure at the Home.

Today at Heritage Home, residents are enjoying indoor curling, complete with friendly competition and plenty of good-natured commentary from the sidelines.

This is what rural care looks like: activities that honor who people are and where they come from. Not a one-size-fits-all program shipped in from somewhere else but something built by and for this community.
