From celebrating Green/Grinch Day and cozy Pajama Day to welcoming the Lumsden Elementary students for Christmas caroling and special gifts, our days have been full of smiles, laughter, and connection.

Bathing can often be uncomfortable for residents in long-term care. A simple warm towel can significantly reduce stress, ease discomfort, and create a more dignified and calming experience. 💛

Thanks to our amazing community, we’ve already raised $810 toward our goal of $3,500 to purchase a second towel warmer, so both of our tub rooms can provide this extra comfort.

Donations can be made via e-transfer to heritagehome@rqhealth.ca
or in person at 10 Aspen Bay. Every contribution directly enhances the daily quality of life for our residents. As a registered charity, LDHH provides tax receipts for all donations.

Bathing can often be uncomfortable for residents in long-term care. A simple warm towel can significantly reduce stress, ease discomfort, and help create a more dignified and calming bathing experience.

To support this, Lumsden & District Heritage Home is fundraising to purchase a second towel warmer, allowing both of our tub rooms to provide this added level of comfort. Our goal is $3,500, and every contribution directly enhances the daily quality of life for our residents.

As a registered charity, LDHH provides tax receipts for all donations.

We have exciting and rewarding job opportunities in the Housekeeping/Laundry areas of the Home. We are currently recruiting for Environmental Service/Laundry Service Workers.

While there are no guaranteed hours for this position, there is plenty of opportunity to pick up shifts! Looking for someone with day shift availability both weekdays and weekends.

🌿✨ Another wonderful week is ahead at Lumsden & District Heritage Home! ✨🌿

We’re starting things off with bingo, an exercise circle, and music with Melanie — the perfect mix of fun and movement to brighten Monday. 🎶💪

The week continues with Communion, Lunch Club, and Bocce Ball, plus plenty of time to connect through our sensory group and “Spooky Old Things” activity! 🎃💚

Midweek brings Halloween word games, fall gardening, and visits from the YWCA — a week full of laughter, energy, and community spirit. 🌸

As we head into the weekend, we’ll enjoy performances, movie night, spooky stories, and coffee & chat with Sunday’s Catholic Church service. ☕🎥✨

🌿✨ Another wonderful week is ahead at Lumsden & District Heritage Home! ✨🌿
We’re kicking things off with Thanksgiving reminiscing, bingo, and sing-alongs — the perfect way to celebrate gratitude and togetherness. 💛 The rest of the week is filled with fun and connection, from fall gardening, Communion, and sensory group activities to a Chinese food outing, Snowflake Bazaar prep, and even a friendly game of horseshoes!

And as we head into the weekend, the excitement continues with a YWCA visit, Happy Hour Cart, and Polka Party, plus Halloween decorating, crafts, movie night, and our Sunday Coffee & Chat with the United Church Service. ☕🎶🎃

Every week at Lumsden & District Heritage Home is about community, care, and creating moments that make hearts full. 🌼
