Sunflower (helianthus spp.) Just before the water that I gave it sank in, the leaves are wilted but the mandala-like bloom is fed. Sunflower focuses her energies on her bloom. Lovely.

Part1: Trout lily leaves just emerging. Trout Lily: Érythrone d'Amérique: Erythronium americanum: Indigenous peoples used root tea for fevers, leaf poultice for hard-to-heal ulcers and scrofula (tuberculosis related infection of neck lymph nodes), also to draw out splinters, reduce swelling. Fresh and recently dried leaves were considered emetic (cleansing through vomiting of poison, etc.), expectorant (loosening phlegm in lungs to favour productive coughing). Externally, leaves are considered softening to skin tissue, though cause immediate allergic reaction. Water extracts are active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. I will send another picture once the pretty flowers of Trout Lily have bloomed. 🌿

Sugar Maple: acer saccharum: Indigenous nations used the inner bark in tea for coughs, diarrhea, as a diuretic (increases urination/cleansing), expectorant (helps loosen phlegm), and 'blood purifier ' (supports blood cleansing organs such as the liver). Maple syrup said to be a liver tonic and kidney cleanser, and used in cough syrup. During sap gathering in Spring, the sap collected in buckets was drunk as a Spring tonic by New Englanders.

My son tested positive for covid, he's fine now after a few days of fever but it's my turn. I'm turning to my herbal allies: echinacea, goldenseal, myrrh and propolis, all in tincture form. These with vitamin C, vitamin D and lots of water and rest will assist my body as it heals. I am taking the opportunity for self-care and trusting in the strength and wisdom of every cell in my body.
