Last week Nzen'man' staff attended the BC Aboriginal Child Care Society's Annual Provincial training conference! The conference is titled We Are One: Strengthening The Circle.

Our Executive Director Romona Baxter spoke on a panel about Indigenous Jurisdiction for ELCC (Early Learning and Child Care) and Nzen'man' staff attended many different workshops and talks to hear from experts in the field of child care.

BCACCs celebrates 30 years of operation in 2026 and Nzen'man' is right up there celebrating 33 years since the society was formed! That's a long time caring for kids and we are honored to keep going on this journey!

We might have missed our 30th celebration but we have a BIIIIIG one coming when our Birds Nest Building is ready for our littles!

Did you know the first five years shape a child’s emotional health for life?

From birth to age five, children are learning how to understand their feelings, manage stress and build relationships. These skills shape their health and well-being for years to come.

That’s why we’re proud to support Feelings First, a provincial program that helps parents and caregivers nurture healthy social and emotional development in young children.

The message from experts is simple: be present, not perfect.

Small, everyday moments, such as listening, routines and caring for yourself as a parent, can make a big difference for children and families.

Are you a new parent to be?

Research shows that prenatal education supports healthier pregnancies and births. That’s why Perinatal Services BC created the Pregnancy & Parent Learning Centre – an online resource for parents and caregivers in B.C.

The Learning Centre is a safe, accessible space with lessons on pregnancy and early parenting. It’s designed to complement the care you receive from your health-care team and help you feel informed and confident every step of the way.
