Emma Quigley Osteopathy

Emma Quigley Osteopathy Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and STOTT Pilates Certified Instructor at Zenith Physio Pilates (Mahone Bay)

Emma is an Osteopathic Manual Therapist with over 10 years of education studying the human body, and has a background in numerous sports. She has a Masters Diploma in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc) from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton, Ontario. Prior to pursuing Osteopathic education, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (BSc Kin) with Honours from the University of New Brunswick, where she also played Varsity Soccer and was captain of the UNB Women's team for three years. Following graduation, she attended the University of Waterloo where she completed her Masters of Science in Kinesiology (MSc Kin) with a thesis comparing regional cerebral blood flow differences. Currently, Emma practices principle based Osteopathic Manual Therapy and takes a structural treatment approach. Treatment is gentle and holistic, and addresses the whole body. She understands the importance of having a connection with her clients and prides herself in making sure they feel heard and understood. The goal of every treatment is to facilitate positive changes within her clients structure while appealing to their nervous system. She aims to find the root cause of what is causing negative symptoms and pain within her patients, and can address multiple areas of concern in a single session. She values providing patient education to empower her clients to achieve their treatment goals both on and off the treatment table. Emma has a special interest in mental health having written her final paper on how Osteopathy can positively impact clients struggling with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and brings this knowledge and awareness to every client. She is a member in good standing with both OSTCAN and the NSAO.

Clients often ask me about the artwork in my treatment room, and are generally shocked to hear that the pieces are all a single line!

I draw these one line anatomy pieces to represent how everything in our bodies is connected and to remind us that nothing works in isolation.

An osteopathic and artistic spin on anatomy 🎨🩻

Why seek out osteopathic care? Common complaints I see are listed above. No matter your complaint, we look at your body as a whole and individualize your treatment to what your body needs!

What does that mean? If we see two low back pain complaints in the same day, we treat them differently because how that low back pain developed is unique to you.

Curious if what you’re experiencing could be helped by osteopathy? Send me a DM!

“Any variation from health has a cause, and the cause has a location. It is the business of the osteopath(ic manual therapist) to locate and remove it, doing away with disease and getting health instead”
