Dear Families,

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to Join Rhonda Lemire, Regional Coordinator with the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia to learn more about dementia.
We will cover general information, signs of dementia, how to keep a healthier brain, progression of the disease and responsive behaviors.
Session is designed to help families gain a deeper understanding of dementia, how the disease progresses, and the changes their loved ones may experience over time.
The information shared can be very helpful in understanding different behaviors and supporting your family member with greater confidence and compassion.

To accommodate schedules, we are offering two dates for this session in January.

Please Email me your loved ones name, and I will be able to provide you the date options.

What an amazing day for volunteers!🥳
This morning we got moving with Rhonda and wheelchair Yoga.🧑‍🦽🧘
Followed by Jamie this afternoon, who taught our residents how to play the ukulele and performed for them🎸🎶
We're so thankful for the amazing volunteers who come in to facilitate such impactful programs for our residents.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of escorting a select group of residents to Bayview Community School for their Remembrance Day Ceremony. Several of our residents were significantly affected by the wars during their formative years, including Randy, who served as a peacekeeper. It was an honor to accompany this group and participate in this commemorative event.

We extend our gratitude to Bayview Community School for their invitation and exceptional hospitality. The kindness demonstrated by your students was deeply appreciated.

Our thanks also go to Lunenburg County Wheels for ensuring our safe transportation to and from the event. Your service is highly valued.

My heart is truly full at this moment. Today, I had a conversation with our LPN, Rhonda, regarding obtaining photographs of our residents who are fans of the Blue Jays. Not only did she readily offer her assistance, but she also created invaluable memories for our residents. A call to her wife, Kim, resulted in merchandise and their puppies, Nova and Ayla, being brought in, which contributed to an unforgettable evening for the residents. My sincere gratitude goes to Rhonda, kim, and CCA Natasha for undertaking this task and for including so many other residents and staff.

I may have to make more than one post 💕

Our Residents were Busy, Busy, Busy!

Thank you to everyone who generously donated this year, with your support our residents were able to make almost 300 treat bags to pass out to our community this Friday.

Our residents will be passing out candy in the Community Room on first floor from 2pm until 4/430 pm

Any candy left over will be in the front lobby, we are hopeful some residents will get downstairs to greet you. Please come and grab a bag.
