Malcolm and I are teaching a Valentine's Day leather class on Saturday, we decided to celebrate our Valentine's Day a little early!
He surprised me with a silversmithing class at Shoreline Designs in Halifax. We each made a hammered sterling silver ring for each other, not only did we learn a lot- I think I caught the bug for a new craft! SE Silver has a good ring to it, right?

I'm making some progress on my chaps for one of my "Out West Girls" this week, this set will be for a sweet lady in British Columbia.
Both sides of these chaps will be different- same principles but with different themes which is a really fun way for me to do things and it really allows the chaps to tell a story. I can't wait to show y'all the final look, they are going to be one of a kind!

I gotta say I love leaving the shop on a Friday night thinking about how much I love my job and wishing the work week was a little longer so I could work just a little bit more. Thanks to everyone for letting me make this my career, it's a dang good one 🤎

I didn't make this belt but it's definitely worth sharing. I have been absolutely blown away by the students that has been walking through my shop doors. This was Taylor's first try at leatherwork, a 6 hour private class is a lot of commitment but it's fair to say she made out quite well.
If you are interested in giving leatherwork a go I must say it's a very rewarding craft, so come on out and give it a go. And don't forget that Try often out-earns Talent, so just give it a whirl!

I've had a lot of wonderful messages from some lovely people lately regarding custom orders so I thought I'd make a post!
In March I will be re-opening custom orders. I found it's best to only take a certain amount of orders at a time then completely close my books again, that way there's no long wait list and everyone who has placed an order will receive it in a timely matter. This will all be on a month to month basis moving forward.
I will make sure to announce before I open so everyone has time to think of what they want and know when the consultations will be available. Consultations are really fun, I love getting to know my customers either by video call or having them come directly to the shop. We will go over leather samples so you can really get a feel for what you're getting, talk tooling design and hardware.
I can't thank my customers enough for trusting me with their stories and crazy ideas, to put it all together to create art that can be put to work.
I love my job and it's all because of you guys 🤎

The girl wears her heart on her sleeve, loves her family something fierce, she ages beautifully and holds that number proudly like a trophy high on the shelf. She's classy, but nothing close to boring. She wild.

Attention New Brunswick leather workers!

I will be coming to Moncton, NB, Sunday March 1st for classes! Right now I have one class open, ideally I would like to fill it with leather workers. This would be great for beginners or intermediates that want to get into tooling. Learn some basic principles and how to incorporate different elements into a piece seamlessly.
We can work on a variety of things, hey dude patches, spur straps, dog collars, all the same rules apply! This will be a great time to ask all kinds of questions about tools, carving and all things leather.
