Today was filled with 6000 steps and great conversation! Surrounded by eagles, birds, dragonflies, squirrels and many doggies, we enjoyed ! shaded walk along the Pitt River at Osprey Village. 🦅🦋🐝🐦🌳🌲

Had a wonderful morning with my client yesterday. I wanted to take her somewhere indoors that was air conditioned and to get some exercise into our session. The smoke here in BC has been awful and the air quality has been very poor.

I decided to take her to Blenz for a coffee and treat. We reminisced and she told me all about the things she was up to during her 40's raising kids on the prairies.

We then headed to Michael's craft store to window shop and get ideas for things we can make with all the wool she has at home. 🧶 She used to knit over 100 scarves per fall to be sent out to children all over the world. 🧣We walked around feeling the different fibres and textures and also enjoying all the fall and Halloween decor. 🍂🎃👻

It is such an honor for me to spend my days with such a beautiful person. I often forget I am with an 83 year old woman. We have become great friends and I love my time with her no matter what we are up to. 💖

My client and I frequent this place often! Today we admired a beautiful heron, talked about favorite relatives and worshiped as we drove around.

I love that I get to help my clients experience joy, wellness and adventure.

Spent a beautiful day taking in all the beauty along the Fraser River today! Tugboats, petting puppies, watching children skip rocks, great company and intelligent conversation made for a wonderful morning! 💕

My children are so blessed to be able to have met and spend time with some of their great grandparents.

My grandparents have played such an important role in my life and thankfully both of my grandmother's still do. There may be thousands of miles between us, but they are part of my daily life and we speak on the phone several times per week.

My grandmothers have both lived lives filled with great amounts of love, strength, perseverance, challenges, adventures, victories and success. I am so inspired by each of them. They continue to remain independent and healthy. They have both been my sounding boards throughout my life. They've been a huge part of creating and operating my business. They give me insight and encouragement. I so wish they lived close by so I could help them and take care of them to return the favor.

Sotiria Delaportas and Ardeth Patterson Norman thank you for loving me, encouraging me and for your friendship! Love you dearly and proud to be your granddaughter! I hope to live to be a great grandmother and to have a special bond with my great grandkids just as we do! ❤️

With over 20 years of both personal and professional experience serving and working with seniors, the time has come to expand the amount of seniors receiving the love and care they so much need and deserve.

I continue to work independently, however I have created a secondary business which will provide work opportunities for health care workers to carry out their passion (provide for their families), while helping seniors remain independent in their own homes, also giving their family members much needed respite. ❤️

Safe and Sound Senior Services

20 years ago I felt called to work with seniors. I have always gravitated towards the older generation, the people who fought for our freedoms and paved the way for all of us.

Over the last year and half I have been working in seniors homes in the community, helping them remain independent and live out their most meaningful and purposeful life. As I saw a huge need and demand for home support (our care facilities are at maximum capacity and cost a fortune), I knew I needed to create opportunities for more seniors to receive the care and love they so much deserve.

I also wanted to give opportunities to people to have flexible, meaningful and positive work experiences. It's a win win for the senior, the worker and the families who need well deserved respite. We have hand picked our team and now accepting applications to match your loved one with a compassionate, empathetic and loving extended family member.

Today was a productive day. I took my client to do some banking and medical appointments. She very rarely gets out of her home and shared how much she'd love to get out more often and experience more joy! We visited Gratia Bakery & Cafe and she told me all about her upbringing.

It warmed my heart to listen to her stories and to see her smile as she looked around the room. It was lovely and upbeat and I could tell she was very content to finally be accomplishing a goal she set out for herself when we first met. ❤️

Sometimes the little things are the big things! 😉

Today my client and I traveled back to the 1950's! The booths and bar stools were shiny red, floor black and white checkered. Hollywood stars like James Dean and Marilyn Monroe covered the walls. She told me all about her highschool reunion and what life was like for her growing up in this era. We enjoyed deep fried pickles🥒, while love me tender played in the background. 📻

I loved listening to her as she shared all about the fashion, cars, dancing and of course the music during these post war times! It was quite amazing how much this place provoked conversations and really felt like we stepped back in time. 😊

A beautiful morning on Brae Island as per my clients request! We watched children kayak for the first time, he ate a dipped ice cream cone for breakfast and together we enjoyed a brisk walk along the river.

Some of the best chats I have are with all the amazing older adults in my life! If you are blessed enough to still have grandparents take time out to remind that they are loved and thought of! 💕
