Mental Health Awareness. There is no specific age, job, criteria. Sometimes the person whose smile is the biggest is suffering the most.

As a society we must begin by breaking down the old barriers of “suck it up”, “have a nap”, “walk it off”, “we all have bad days”., etc. Yes we all have bad days, but not everyone has or knows how to ask for the tools to start the journey to make bad days better.

Depression, anxiety, social anxiety, etc, there is no walking neon sign. If someone reaches out to you, please know that it took more courage than you can ever imagine.

If you know or are someone who feels they are alone in this world or embarrassed to talk about your mental health, please know we are here to help. No judgements, no criticism, just a safe space to talk and guide you with whatever tools we can find together to help you begin your healing journey.

We Care About You.

Oh Summer. You come in with such high expectations, adventure, laughter, promises of summer romance for some, carefree joy. And now you leave with remnants of memories, last day beach adventures and strolls to the ice cream shop. You come in with gusto and leave in a blaze of glory!

But Fall. Oh my dear lovely Fall. You come in quietly with the first changes of colour on the leaves. You bring a little crispness to the air and fond dreams of bulky sweaters and warm tea. Fall you make us slowly fall in love with you with sweet promises of warm fires, toasty days spent reading and replenishing our souls to such a deep level. Im ready Fall. For all the hopes and dreams and potential you bring.

Summer it’s been a wild ride. Fall come on In.

When I get asked, “what makes you an expert?”. My answer is always this:

I’ve never said I was an expert. I’m on a journey just like everyone else. My journey has taken me through some pretty dark places and times, and I’ve come through the other side. That doesn’t make me an expert, but it makes me someone who can hold space for you and offer some guidance because I’ve gone through some of what you have or are going through.

I’ve met my demons face to face and I know the battle. I’m simply here to hold space on your own healing journey.

Food For Thought:

As we start 2025 off we begin to see many posts about resolutions, new me, etc. For some people that may involve a new relationship. As I work with many different clients, one of the questions I always ask is this:

What do you bring to the table?

Now, many women ask this of potential male partners, but to me it doesn’t matter what your gender is. If you are a person looking to get into relationship then ask yourself the above. And I’m not just talking about financial, although that is also important.

Some common things people look for are:

-Trustworthiness and honesty
-Respect and consideration for the other person's feelings and needs
-Emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate effectively
-A sense of humor and the ability to laugh together
-Similar values and goals
-Physical attraction
-Compatibility and shared interests

Relationships, especially adult ones, take work, they take commitment to listen and respect others needs, and they aren’t all about romance, fireworks and that movie screen ending.

If you are putting in more effort than your partner, or always asking to spend time together, or giving in to their way, or paying for most things; re-evaluate your worth.

And, before you start making that pros and cons list about a potential mate, consider what you are putting on the table and then you’ll know what you are looking for.
