We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge all the incredible work the team at Hill House does each day. Hill House Hospice is a truly special place filled with love, compassion, and care providing a comforting, home-like setting for individuals and their families during some of life’s most meaningful moments
Since opening in 1998, Hill House was the first residential hospice in York Region and the second in the province of Ontario and remains a registered charity that offers compassionate end-of-life care at no cost to families.

For our Day 9 Random Act of Kindness, we were delighted to share a small token of appreciation with Carla, one of our wonderful performers, in recognition of all that she does for our community. Carla consistently goes above and beyond when she performs for us, taking the time to learn special requests, including Italian songs that mean so much to our residents. Her music always creates a warm, festive atmosphere and brings genuine joy to everyone in the room. This small act of kindness was our way of saying thank you for her talent, dedication, and the extra care she brings to every performance.

Richview Manor had a blast celebrating Movember! Residents gathered to enjoy soft pretzel bites and live entertainment from Bruce, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere. Movember is a month dedicated to raising awareness for men’s health issues, including mental health and prostate cancer. The highlight of the afternoon was seeing everyone’s mustachios, both real and fake, which brought plenty of laughter, smiles, and friendly competition. It was wonderful to come together, share fun moments, and celebrate this playful tradition with our community.

Food banks across York Region have seen a significant rise in demand, especially during the winter months, and community support is more important than ever. Every can, box, and bag makes a meaningful difference.

This week, we proudly honoured our incredible team members who have reached their Five- and Ten-Year Service Award milestones — a true testament to their dedication, compassion, and commitment to our community. 🧡

We were grateful to have Joseph Gulizia, President & CEO of Universal Care, join us and deliver a heartfelt speech recognizing the impact our staff make every single day. 🙏✨

Father Larry led us in a beautiful prayer of gratitude, followed by a wonderful afternoon filled with live music, dancing, laughter, and celebration. 🎶💃🕺

A special thank you to our culinary team, who prepared a beautiful spread of hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, and a delicious celebration cake. Their hard work and creativity helped make the event truly memorable. 🍰🥂✨
