Pull-ups and rowing might look like just “gym movements,” but at their core, they’re all about one powerful, practical skill: pulling strong.

Pull-ups build the kind of upper body and grip strength you rely on in real life—whether you’re climbing, pulling yourself up over something, or controlling and supporting your own body weight. They train your back, arms, and core to work together, teaching you how to generate real pulling power with control.

Rowing reinforces that same idea, but over and over again. Every stroke is a coordinated pull driven by your legs, core, and arms working in sequence. It builds endurance in that pulling pattern, helping you move weight efficiently and repeatedly—just like you would when dragging, lifting, or shifting objects in everyday life.

Today and forever we will remember Wayne — a true pillar of CrossFit UV and someone who brought so much life into our space every single day.

Wayne wasn’t just a member… he was the heartbeat of the gym. From the moment he walked in, you could feel the energy shift — the music got better, the laughs got louder, and the community felt stronger. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and valued, no matter who you were or where you were in your journey.
