Not every tummy tuck requires a scar around the belly button.
This patient in her late 50s wanted improvement in her abdomen and a breast lift, but she specifically wanted to avoid the traditional abdominoplasty incision that circles the belly button.
Because most of her excess skin was in the upper abdomen, Dr. Wallman performed a reverse abdominoplasty, using an incision hidden just beneath the breasts. This approach allowed him to remove loose upper abdominal skin while performing a breast lift at the same time.
To further refine the contour of the lower abdomen, a mini abdominoplasty was also performed.
We show some early postoperative photos here that are about 2 weeks after surgery, when the incisions are still in the early healing phase.
Then, voila! At 6 weeks post-op, she has a small amount of residual skin around the belly button, but she is very happy with her results and she achieved her main goal of avoiding a scar around the belly button.
