🎠One of the tenets of naturopathic practice is that health starts with a healthy diet and healthy digestion.

🎠What you eat and your ability to digest your food determines the water and nutrients that your body has to work with. There are numerous biochemical pathways that control how the body functions. Those pathways and the building and maintenance of every structure (bone, muscle, tissues, blood, etc.) depends on nutrients.

In order to stimulate the innate ability of the body to heal the causes of disease must be identified and addressed. With Seasonal Affective Depression (SAD) the main cause is a change in seasons, typically due to the decreased sunlight in the winter months. Other factors include:

🧠 Decreased time outside.
🧠 Decreased social activities.
🧠 Shortened daylight hours, causes a shift in circadian rhythm & influences neurotransmitters.
🧠 Living in the northern latitudes.

Proper breathing is slow, deep and rhythmic. Deep means that the initial movement is from the abdomen. When you breathe, the movement starts in the low abdomen and then moves up to the chest.
