Control The Bleed Canada is a 100% Canadian program, that teaches individuals how to stop catastrophic bleeding using military style tourniquets and wound packing.

This week alone, there were two major news stories that further the need for this life saving training.

Waisuddin Akbari a 42-year-old man, was convicted in Newmarket Criminal Court of two criminal offences: threatening death and property damage. Court heard that Akbari stated, "I'm going to plant a bomb in every synagogue in Toronto and blow them up to kill as many jews as possible". It is expected that the hate motivation will be brought to the attention of the court during sentencing in May 2025.

Also this week, 25-year old Kaley-Ann Freier, was charged with assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order for attacking a Muslim woman at the Ajax Public Library after trying to set her hijab on fire.

Both these incidents are right here, happening now, in our community.
Everyday there are incidents like this. However, every incident is not hate related. Catastrophic bleeds can happen in the kitchen at home, at work, or even a traffic accident.
