? 😉 If your skin isn't used to this magical ingredient yet A.K.A retinol, layering in your skincare routine maximizes its benefits while minimizing potential irritation.

✨Cleanser: Start with a gentle cleanser. Avoid actives such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. These ingredients are counteractive to the effectiveness of retinol.

✨ Serum: Niacinamide-based serums paired with retinol can reduce irritation, which can occur in first-time users, and help hydrate skin at the same time.

✨Retinol: After your serum, apply a pea-sized amount of retinol to the entire face. (We recommend retinol before moisturizer if your skin is on the oiler/acne-prone side; the opposite if your skin is dry/sensitive.) Start with a lower concentration if you're new. The key is to layer your skincare. Not mix. Wait for 5-10 minutes before layering your products.

✨Moisturizer: Apply a hydrating and soothing moisturizer to prevent dryness. This last step acts as a protective barrier for your skin.

✨SPF (morning after): Retinol is most recommended to be applied at night because it sunlight is not retinol's best friend! Research shows that UV exposure can change the structure of retinoids, reducing their effectiveness. Apply SPF when you wake from your retinol treatment to protect your skin.
