There’s something about practicing by the ocean. The nervous system unwinds. The mind quiets. The body remembers its rhythm.
Inhale as the wave rolls in.
Exhale as it retreats.
Let nature set the pace instead of your to-do list.

Freyja is often reduced to love, beauty, and desire or to battle and death. But there is another layer to her myth that is rarely explored.

She wept.

In the Old Norse texts, Freyja’s husband Óðr disappears, wandering the worlds. And Freyja searches for him, weeping tears of red gold as she travels.

The goddess of sovereignty.
The chooser of the slain.
The wielder of seiðr magic.

And still she grieves.

This matters.

Freyja is not diminished by longing. She is not weakened by devotion. Her tears do not erase her authority. They become gold.

There is something deeply powerful about that image. Grief transformed into treasure. Loss transmuted into something luminous.

She does not collapse into abandonment. She does not renounce love because it hurt her. She continues to rule. She continues to choose warriors. She continues to practice magic.

She feels and remains sovereign.

In a culture that often tells women to either harden completely or lose themselves entirely, Freyja offers a different model.

You can desire deeply.
You can love fiercely.
You can grieve fully.
And still be powerful.

She teaches that emotion is not the opposite of strength. It is evidence of capacity.

Freyja does not pretend she does not ache.

She simply refuses to let the ache define her throne.

And maybe that is the deeper lesson.

You are allowed to mourn what mattered.

Just do not surrender your crown in the process.
