Meet Baron Bacon! 😻
He is a charming gentleman with a heart as warm as his name is fun!
Once found as a stray, this sweet boy was rescued by a kind person who gave him a second chance at the good life.

During his neuter, the amazing veterinarians at Cypress View Veterinary Clinic discovered a small lump on his back. What they found was heartbreaking, a pellet from a pellet gun lodged beneath his skin. Despite this cruel act, he has never lost his gentle spirit. He still greets people with love, trust, and quiet hope, proving just how remarkable his resilience truly is.

Baron is friendly and calm, and he adores attention from his people. He has a soft, affectionate side and loves being talked to and doted on — he’ll gladly repay you with purrs, slow blinks, and sweet head bumps.

He has previously been around other cats and would likely adjust well to feline companions in a patient home. His experience with dogs and children is unknown, but his loving nature suggests he’ll settle in beautifully with the right introductions.

If you’re looking for a loyal, lovable companion to share cozy days and quiet evenings, Baron Bacon is your guy! ❤️

It’s World Diabetes Day today.
From a dental perspective:
We know diabetes and periodontal disease are heavily connected. Often as dentists we are able to pick up the earliest signs of type two diabetes. We send many patients who have a dramatic change in their periodontal status to be checked for diabetes every year.

We also know that treating periodontal disease helps manage diabetes. We recommend those with type two diabetes to be monitored more closely and see the hygienist every 3-4 months. Thank you to all my wonderful hygienists who ensure our patients not only get great oral care, but are helping our patients maintain good overall health.

We cannot forget about type one diabetes as well. Type one diabetes is often misunderstood by many. Type one diabetes is an autoimmune disease and is not caused by eating too much sugar. If a type one diabetic has low blood sugar they can require sugar such as juice or candy to prevent possible severe hypoglycemia. Not ideal for your teeth, but can be life saving.
