Many breastfeeding (including myself, once upon a time) mothers have wondered or currently are curious about foods they consume that can negatively affect their baby.
It can be a frustrating guessing game when it comes to the cause of gas in any baby, breast or bottle fed but especially in cases of strictly breastfed babies is mothers can’t help but ask the question of “Was it something I ate??”
There are a number of foods that are known to be possible gas-causing foods in their breastfed babies but they’re not the same foods for every baby and to complicate things more, there are other factors at play as well.
Have a read through this article and you will notice that many times it’s nothing his/her momma ate. It can be a “normal” part of the transitioning from the in utero diet of nutrients via the umbilical cord to all the new sensations that go along with being a new born and the rapidly developing digestive system.
Hopefully this can help solve even just a little bit of the mystery that goes along with having a newborn, whether it’s your first born or 6th 😄👍🏼
