Masking is required inside hospitals at this time due to increased respiratory illnesses such as influenza, RSV and Covid currently in our communities. Masking is recommended in our clinic, esspecially if you are experiencing respiratory symptoms. Please help keep other patients and our staff healthy.

Due to increased respiratory illness in the province, Nova Scotia Health will require masking when entering our facilities starting Dec. 18. This measure is for the safety of our patients and visitors. Signs will be posted at entrances and masks will be made available.

We thank you for your understanding and doing your part to keep everyone safe.

RSV SHOT FOR INFANTS: RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is the leading cause of hospitalization in infants during their first year of life. RSV is active in our communities generally between October and April each year. It is the most common cause of lower respiratory tract infections like bronchiolitis and pneumonia and can lead to severe complications requiring hospitalization or intensive care. The RSV shot can reduce risk of complications from RSV requiring hospitalization by between 76 and 81%, and is now available in NS.

If your baby hasn't received this dose in hospital at birth (offered in NS since Oct 15th) please call our clinic at 902-825-1095 to book an appointment for this. The dose is free and may be given individually, or with other scheduled vaccines at 2, 4, or 6 months of age if your baby has an upcoming appointment for these.
